I keep an eye on Sunderland a bit as well. I always think in an alternate timeline we could have done what they are doing, ie: drop straight down. I do have sympathy for the fans. As we know its bloody awful being a big club that just cant stop losing and all the news is bad.

Hmm I had a look. Over the past 13 seasons the average winning top 2 totals in the championship are Av Winners = 93 pts (92.6) Av Second place = 87 pts so we would need an average of 1.8pts per remaining game to finish average second and 2.4pts per remaining game to finish average 1st. Our current form over the entire season so far is 1.9 pts per game. Our recent form (past 5 games) is 2pts per game. The only problem with all that is Cardiffs form is better. But in the words of Steve Bruce its likely we will be "there or there abouts".

Honestly I am ambivalent. Good player for us no doubt. But I also never ever want to see again the poisonous attitude we saw in the Villa squad and managers that got us relegated. Tekkers was there at the time. So bringing back any of the players from the bad old days makes me pause. Just in case thats the tipping point back to the piss poor team spirit we used to have. Bruce & Wyness & Xia have worked VERY hard to finally erase that crap. I would hate to see their work undone.

Another one I got wrong, serves me right for listening to Sunderland fans. They said he was lazy. He is not lazy. They said he never jumps or heads the ball. He scored against them with a header. They said he is a miserable bastard. He was all smiles post match Wolves. They said he has a crappy wispy beard.. ok I will give them that one. Stonking player Lewis is. Although he is 30 I would take him for next season. Regardless of which league we are in.

Steve Bruce is only the second good thing ever to come out of ManU. But if we win the league then I will forgive him for playing for them. Champions League that is, obviously. I am not a bloody charity.

Also this is Ian Holloway. A managerial clown. We can still lose of course, its football, but Holloway wont be out thinking Steve Bruce thats for damn sure.

Thor .. gets the ball drives through 5 wolves players by himself, beats the keeper at his near post from outside the box while still surrounded. I loved that goal. All about determination that one.
