    I like the fact we have an owner who treats us like adults who can handle straight talk. Xia gives me confidence, a smart man who speaks plainly. While the news he gave us isnt good, the way he handled delivering it is.

    I am fine if we stay in the Championship (personal opinion) so I am pretty calm. But my inner panic today is zero, I just think we will win comfortably. Just my gut, I have no evidence to back it up. Maybe feel different when the game starts

    That squad will probably win one game in the group and draw the others. Knocked out by the first decent opposition they come up against.

    Same. Lets face it we double marked him out of the game at times. Bruce correctly identified him as their only threat and treated him like Messi. Having a player like that in your side who the opposition simply cannot afford to ignore is a huge plus. I would love to have him back.

    Watching the players yesterday, I do think we should give Bruce some credit for building a real team here. They obviously like each other, follow instructions, adjust tactically. It is quite noticeable the improvement since when he arrived.

    All true. But tbh its ok. I have a horrible feeling England is not going to have a very pleasant trip in Putin's Russia so I am more than happy to keep Jack safe and sound at home this year.

    I dont think Pulis has ever won promotion by playoffs has he? I think he is more effective over a long season rather than must win high pressure games.

    Thanks for the stats both. I mean its FELT better this past season or so, I guess it IS better. It used to be nailed on we would find someway to concede late or lose from a winning position.

    Dont get your hopes up. Sunderland's players will find a way to lose. They always do.

    Yeah seems unlikely. Sunderland's players just gave up months ago. At this point they just want to avoid getting injured so they can get a transfer away in the summer.
