  1. Steve Bruce is not bound by the rules of gods or mortal men. He wins when he likes, regardless of what the fates may conspire.
  2. Millwall vs Warnock. Bloody hell. What a feast of football. Anyway piss off Warnock. I have zero respect for a manager who deliberately sends his team out to injure the opponents as he has done in the past.
  3. Reminds me of the time I tried to equate the burden of shaving my face to that of child birth. My wife didn't even CONSIDER the merits of my argument. Just shut me down immediately , SO unreasonable
  4. Well, you are well within your right to think that because as a matter of fact, since September(?) He hasnt. Which is another reason not to play him.
  5. I love your avatar. That is all.
  6. I wouldnt play him. We need these points, no need to roll the dice on mind games or Gabby having a fantastic swan song. He is our 4th choice forward, I would sooner see Grabban. If we were not in the automatic promotion hunt then I can see why we might play him, but now? No, we just need to play our strongest in form team.
  7. I suspect Bruce would just ask him if he is up for it, as a first stage. Terry will tell him straight if he thinks he still has the legs for the Premier League.
  8. How the heck can "advice" help a club that needs cash within 12 hours or its out of business? is the advice "Find some money sharpish"?
  9. Honestly I was hoping they would win. Not only keeps them distracted but also... well I know some blues fans as friends & relatives.. when they are not playing us I have no problem with them doing well.
  10. Cant wait. The chance to set a record 7 in a row. Our team at the top of their game, them playing well and looking to spoil the party. Should be a cracking game. Hopefully their twattish fans wont ruin it for everyone.
  11. If we were going to replace Bruce with a more sure thing then ok, I could live with it. But that "sure thing" obviously is unlikely to be British as we already have one of the top three British managers (Rodgers, Bruce, Big Sam). While I respect the job Dyche has done Villa cant operate that way and his football approach of balls into the box to the big men really wont work for our players or I daresay our club. Look at the rightful stick Bruce got when he played some long ball. It just doesn't fit the kind of football Villa fans want. So we would be left with proven foreign managers and most likely yet another change in backroom staff and yet another change in recruitment priorities. It could work and hopefully it would, but that kind of change at a newly promoted club seems a tough ask. If we go up and if Xia & Wyness are going to make a change then they should do it the week we get promoted. Give the new guy a full preseason. But I dont think they will. Assuming Bruce carries on the way he is he will be our manager next season and I am fine with that.
  12. You got that right. I watched the first half last night. That ref (and the entire officiating team) were genuinely biased against us. I mean, awful. I am convinced they got at least 1 and probably two of the offsides calls wrong as well.
  13. Seems a bit of a distraction really. Still I trust he knows what he is doing. He has given me no reason to think otherwise.
  14. I have thought the same. The sad fact is though if we don't go up we will have a worst squad next season, we just wont be able to afford it so we will have to trim some quality, Bruce may also walk. If we do go up them the most likely result is we are a bottom half premier league club in a relegation scrap. In other words, I am just enjoying this moment. I agree its SO nice to actually be the favourites for a change and not mess it up every week. Sadly I think no matter what happens that is going to change next season.
  15. I was thinking about this as well. Assuming this team stays gelled it might be worth extending a couple of the older players for one more year. This is the first genuinely good team, as in an actual team spirit we have had in many years. Better to limit the change as much as seems sensible. A top to bottom sort out and the chaos that brings could relegate us again in short order.
  16. The full match is up on AVTV I will take a look tonight.
  17. He currently has the best win rate of any Aston Villa manager since 1934 .... not bad Steve, not bad.
  18. Interesting. I havent watched the full game yet. You saying we went three at the back for a bit after we took off Snoddy & Adomah? if so thats veyr interesting. I wonder of Bruce was trying something out.
  19. I see Calderwood took the post match interview again. Without wanting to pry, is Steve's mum ok? I feel bad for him and his family,, thats a tough thing to deal with
  20. I am bloody loving it. Six in a row. Maybe the best squad in the division. Goals a plenty and playing some exciting football. All in a promotion chase. If these are the concerning times then they can stick around. I am having a blast
  21. Not the first time he has done that either. Its probably his only real flaw. He is reluctant to chase down balls away from goal like that. I understand why, he doesnt want to look like an idiot and leave an open goal, but sometimes you have to.
  22. They will always be "The Tigers" to me.
