They booed his every touch, chanted "Darren Bent we wish you were dead" for minutes straight. So predictably Bent scored and gave them the ear cupping they richly deserved as he sent them down. Bunch of morons. Why abuse a player when you know its just going to fire him up to play better against you? Congrats Sunderland fans, you played yourselves.

I dont get it though. We still have a slim chance of automatic promotion so playing the reserve team would rightfully get Bruce a lot of stick. So resting those players who have been visibly knackered but playing Grealish who is not seems pretty sensible to me.

We have no reason to fear anyone in this league and although there are several very good managers in the playoffs Bruce is probably the best qualified.

He is very good at this level. Dare I say it, he looks like he is enjoying playing for us and appreciates the support? I think its been a while since he has felt liked at a club I think ,Sunderland fans, incredibly, gave him stick while he was playing for them for being "lazy" which is nuts given how hard working he has been for us.

Bruce's last interview on Ross gave me the impression he will never play again for us while Bruce is manager. McCormack REALLY pissed off Steve Bruce. It must have been pretty bad because I have never seen Bruce have that attitude before about any player.

I dont think he has us playing turgid football. Its not tippy tappy short passing, which is what I prefer, but there is no doubt he has had us playing some exciting and attacking wing play the past few months. Turgid football is the kind of stuff Pulis or Mick McCarthy or a bevy of other English managers play. Lets be fair to Bruce, he is a step above them in terms of entertainment. As for being in the premier league, well, IF that happens then we need the mother of all clear outs on the players side. Nothing against the dads army bruce assembled this season, he did it deliberately, but they wont work if we go up. Maybe Bruce won't either to be honest, but I think he has had us playing some good stuff (for the championship) since January.

Great 1st half, AWFUL 20 mins in the 2nd half, then back to being good. I gave Elmo MOTM. I thought he worked his ass off the entire game. Hat tip to Whelan as well. Good blocks to keep our lead. Job done, good subs by Bruce as well.

He may have had a bad game but Snodgrass just sprinted half the park twice to make sure we got back possession. Good for him.
