  1. Arsenal would be perfect for him, a better Giroud. Don't think they've ever been linked to him though.
  2. Technical ability can be coached and improved, it's not a case of being born with it.
  3. He's really not. He's not a winger for a start. He was amazing at times last season playing a quick sharp passing game. What will hold him back is a bad attitude, he really should stay at Liverpool.
  4. Insanely harsh. He simply needs to grow into the role, probably intimidated by his teammates. It's not like he's been hyped up as a superstar either.
  5. It's amazing how he's escaped criticism this season, awful transfers, awful style of play, awful form, Paul McShane and odds on to go down. Hopeless.
  6. Talk of him bizarrely getting a new contract. Don't think I want him here based on what he's been doing at QPR.
  7. Great win. Crosses into the box are bread and butter for them, hence Benteke not getting too many chances. Should tried to play it in a bit more. Nitpicking I know.
  8. Sign him up, sign him up.
  9. Whatever IT is he's got it. It's all about attitude now, he needs to stay level headed ad hopefully avoid injuries.
  10. Swansea at home was probably the worst performance.
  11. I'm really looking forward to what he can become but the hype is going stratospheric based on one game! Johnny Giles saying he should be starting for Ireland, the media calling for him to make a decision on his international future, comparisons to superstars on here. He could become anything but it all needs to slow down.
  12. Sign him up, his wages might be highish but he's on a free.
  13. So many under performing City players this season. Silva and Aguero their usual selves but not one other stand out player. You look at Chelsea and they have great young players like Hazard, Oscar, Matic, Azpilicueta, Courtois but where are City's top class players in this age group? Where is the money being spent?
  14. It's not about money, he's simply not good enough anymore to play for Villa. He'd almost definitely be picked up by another PL club but the days of non working poachers are at an end.
  15. A massive amount of his movement is off the ball and lazy pundits don't see it.
  16. We're ok at full back with Cissokho and Hutton no?
  17. He's a pure defensive midfielder, if he has to pass more than 10 yards then the team is set up wrong. A 3 man midfield has a destroyer (Sanchez), a passer (Westwood) and a player to push forward (Delph). That's what we should be playing.
  18. Fair play to him, he seemed like a player who was destined for a career in the championship but he's worked hard and is being rewarded. He's the type of player fans adore.
  19. Probably a game not needed a bit if subtly in Gil. We were caught bad for the goal.
  20. Are we being outnumbered in midfield? Not watching.
  21. He's lazy but the manager should know that and either make him work, play him further forward or drop him

    Carles Gil

"Given a go"? This is not playschool, it's serious business. Winning games is all that matters. I like the lad, seriously, but we are not Aston Carles. That's not an attack on you personally by the way, just a general feeling of frustration I have with regards this subject. Perhaps it's me not understanding something? I just think he's shown he is easily good enough for this team, and can seriously contribute to us winning games and scoring goals. He's been an absolute shining light in a terrible side every single match he's played for us, yes including Stoke. I'm not saying play him every game all the time, but to me, he just isn't being given a fair crack by Tim, and that is a shame for Aston Villa. In the diamond, he's the best player we have who can play in behind the strikers. Better than Zog, better than Grealish, better than Joe Cole! Look how good Zog has been since being "given a go" and plucked from nowhere! To reiterate, do not play him no matter what, in any system. In the flat 4-4-2 we played Saturday, I have no issues with him being benched, that was clearly the correct call. But look at the WBA home game, diamond in midfield, we were the better team and ended up sneaking the game with a penalty. By playing Gil more, when the game suits, I think we're giving ourselves a better chance going forward. I'm hoping Sherwood will give him a go eventually. I'd be really disappointed to see him leave, and if he doesn't play much till the end of the year, there's no doubts in my mind he will. He only signed in January and you some how think there is a danger of him leaving in the summer. That's simply mental.
  23. Extremely attacking, I wouldn't line up like that against the majority of the league but might be ok against a poor team like Sunderland. A possibility of it backfiring on Tim but I think we'll be alright today.
