  1. Been sat here muttering to myself about Danny Murphy being an idiot, glad to know I'm not alone in thinking that Should be illegal for someone who's football knowledge is about 40 years out of date to commentate on a game.
  2. It's the same guy (unless there was another one too), check his comment history. I remember the avatar, because it took some real batshit posting to beat what was in that thread at the time!
  3. That's actually a myth that you can swallow your tongue, and sticking your hand in an unconscious persons mouth can do more harm than good. Not that I blame Kjaer for doing so as it was an awful situation where he was just trying to help, but unless your ensuring the person isn't biting their tongue during a seizure, you don't need to worry about their tongue.
  4. It's not old, you can see the Finnish flag behind that they were screening him with. Thank **** he seems conscious, hopefully he gets through it.
  5. That's awful from Wales' #14, more interested in holding Embolo than actually competing for the ball, just gives him a free header.
  6. To be fair, that's not in the original Athletic article that HITC have ripped off. Adam Leventhal, the Athletic's Watford reporter, said in a round up of transfer news for Watford that they're trying to agree a new contract, but with one year left on his current deal, they may try to sell if he doesn't agree terms, and that we're interested if he's available. Nothing in it about our motivations, just we were one of the teams interested. Honestly, I don't mind it, it seems to be similar to Sanson in that we might get someone we're keeping tabs on at a cut rate price. We don't have great depth, so Hughes for under £10m would be a good deal imo, he won't displace the current starters, but will be a decent option off the bench or when rotating players.
  7. Didn't know where to put this, the transfer thread seemed a decent place for it (mods feel free to move it if it should be somewhere else), but reading Gregg Evans' piece in the Athletic on the Euros and how Villa's transfers won't be affected by it, this line was at the bottom; I hate Randy Lerner...
  8. He said it on the radio too shortly after tweeting it out, with the host not correcting him at all. Even the Mail were taking the piss out of him for it.
  9. That link you've provided says that the Guardian is the most reliable when it comes to transfer rumours. Also, whilst some journos will make shit up, there must be 100s of deals every window that fall through for one reason or another, just because they get reported and don't come off doesn't mean it's baseless.
  10. I was so disappointed when Bellingham had his chance blocked, imagine being torn between celebrating a youth products first goal for England and not celebrating because a Villa player would've got the assist.
  11. Just read that on their forum, possibly one of the most deluded things I've ever read, and I've been gobbling down Arsenal fan reactions the past week. They've only ever won 2 League Cups and they're highest ever finish was third. In a season we finished above them...
  12. To be fair, I do think the credit for Watkins' development goes to the fella that signed him from Exeter for Brentford, not Deano.
  13. For me I think it will be a 433 with Luiz as the DM, McGinn and Sanson as box to box players linking with the front three and getting in to the box with Buendia and Grealish creating from the wings.
  14. There's one guy on there convinced we're favourites for relegation with the bookies, despite every single one of them having us at 11th at worst.
  15. If we could follow this up with the Smith-Rowe rumour being true, I would be so **** happy!
  16. Mitre being replaced by Puma as the EFL official ball, a sad day Mitre is THE ball of the football league and league cup, it just won't be the same with a Puma ball.
  17. The grand irony is that when these troglodytes boo the players kneeling, they actually give it a purpose. It's no longer performative, it's a **** you to the fans booing, and you keep doing it until they shut the **** up and actually listen to what you're trying to say.
  18. For me that's the only reason I can see why they would sell him, even if the chance is slim to none. If Arsenal feel his contract demands are too much, or can't guarantee the game time he wants, they might decide to cash in as there's no guarantee his stock will be as high next summer, similar to the Martinez situation last summer. It's not likely imo, as he's still young and I can't see Arsenal not wanting to tie him down, but they've made some **** dumb decisions before so who knows. Then again, Man City showed their intent by taking Arsenal's brightest players every season, maybe we're just following their blueprint
  19. Now that Morecambe have been promoted, they are the team that has gone the longest without promotion or relegation in the EFL, along with Derby. 2008 must've been a great year for Forest fans.
  20. Only because he was used as a makeweight in the Solano deal as Souness didn't rate him. He was set to join us permanently, but then Newcastle pulled the plug as Roeder wanted him to stay. That's not quite the same as loaning someone out for experience, e.g. like with Grealish.
  21. The real difference is that Chelsea have spent over £2bn since Abramovich bought them. Don't need stability when you can blow every other team out of the water financially (bar Man City or PSG).
