  1. What annoys me the most about when people say wrestling is fake is the pure ignorance of it! While it is all scripted and storyline based, the physical side is very dangerous. Some of the manoeuvres that they do are very high risk. One slip or bad timing can have life threatening consequences. Yes they are highly trained but accidents happen. Everytime they wrestle could well and truly be their last. These guys wrestle 5 or 6 nights every week. Their travel schedule is ridiculous! No off season in wrestling! Many of them often wrestle hurt too! I'm 28. I've been a fan since 1987. When I was 22 I trained to be a professional wrestler. I went to America twice to attend training camps that lasted three months each time. I've actually had professional wrestling matches in America and England and my record stands at 19 wins and 5 losses. I was seriously considering trying to crack America permanently and then when I was 25 I got a serious ankle injury playing football which set me back for over a year in total. When I fully recovered I didn't really have the desire to get back in shape and start wrestling again. It was good while it lasted though. Massive eye opener!
  2. There is absolutely no chance that Trish did porn! There's loads of fake "wrestling diva" porn videos. She turned down Playboy numerous times because she didn't want to do nude stuff. I remember years ago when I checked the clips that are meant to be Trish and it's blatantly obvious that it isn't her anyway! Chyna on the otherhand... her clit is horrible and her tits look very oddly shaped. I don't rate her surgeon at all. Back to WWE, I thought RAW was boring on Monday but seeing CM Punk with Paul Heyman is a storyline that I've wanted to see since last July. I'm intrigued to see where they go with it from here. Going three hours permanently was a mistake because they aren't developing enough storylines/feuds. It's as if they are stumbling along and struggling to fill an extra hour instead of giving some of the lesser names more tv time. I'm a huge WWE fan but there's only three or four active wrestlers that keep me interested. The rest of it is too boring and/or too immature for my liking.
  3. Can't knock his work rate but he was rubbish in possession. Gave Ben Arfa far too much time and space and look what happened. Great finish but Holman should have closed him down. Needs to improve.
  4. I thought some of the through balls he was doing were absolutely useless but he had a decent game overall. He was getting into good positions trying to support Bent. I thought they linked pretty well today which is promising. Keep at it Ireland!
  5. Guzan was superb today. I loved the way he was coming to claim everything. He really commanded his area today. Deserves to keep his place.
  6. Very pleased with that today as I was expecting us to get turned over. I thought Guzan had a solid game today. Given might find it hard to win his place back now and rightly so after Guzan's performance. I can't really fault anyone except Holman. The amount of time and space that he gave Ben Arfa for the goal was ridiculous! Great finish but Holman should have closed him down. Can't knock Holmans workrate but he needs to do alot better if he is going to make it here. El Ahmadi was quality. Looks like his ankle injury is nothing serious which is good. I was impressed with Bent today. He won alot of aerial battles as well. Ireland worked hard but some of the through balls he was trying to do were useless. At least he was getting into the right positions though. Gabby looked lively when he came on. As I say I can't really fault anyone. It was a decent performance and a great away point but I'm actually a little disappointed that we didn't come away with all three now! Plenty of positives to take from this game plus with Gabby coming back and the likes of Benteke and Bennett knocking on the door I'm feeling positive.
  7. There's no doubting Holmans workrate, he just needs to be alot better in possession. So far so good. We do look too lightweight in midfield though
  8. RAW will be shown at 1am on the Monday night/Tuesday morning. It is repeated at about 5pm on a Friday. Smackdown will be shown at 10pm on the Friday night and repeated on the Saturday morning and then again later that night starting sometime between 10pm and 2am. That's what usually happens anyway. I'll post the confirmed tv viewing times in this thread nearer the time.
  9. Sold! I'll wear my Villa shirt and I'll hold up a big white cardboard sign with Scuba Steve on it in big black writing. Scuba Steve must be a fairly popular piss take name around the country as I was watching something a few weeks ago and I saw a Scuba Steve sign in the crowd but I can't remember what I was watching! It could have been at the darts actually. I just remember seeing it and laughing my head off thinking about that VT thread.
  10. 3-0 to Newcastle. This is the first away game that I've missed for a long time! It's one of my favourite stadiums to visit but I just couldn't be bothered with the long travelling this time around. First one I miss for ages and it's not even on TV either. Typical.
  11. Me!!! I've got front row tickets for RAW on the 5th and I've got 3rd row tickets for Smackdown on the 6th. I can't wait, especially for RAW!
  12. I'm really looking forward to seeing him play for us. I think he could be the perfect partner for Bent. Look how well Bent did at Sunderland when he had a big man up front with him. (Kenwyne Jones) From what I've seen, as well as being an aerial threat, he can also recieve the ball and run at and past defenders. He also looks skillful. Anyone see his goal for Belgium against Holland the other week? He made Matheijsen look like a proper mug! An extra aerial threat from set pieces. Maybe we can finally end our goals from a corner drought which stands at almost 400 corners since we last scored from one! Welcome Christian.
  13. Swansea were also apparently watching him as a potential replacement for Joe Allen.
  14. There's no need for people to moan about our transfer dealings! Trust Lambert FFS!!! Just because we are bottom after two games and we've signed players with no premier league experience doesn't mean we'll go down! Be patient and give them a chance before writing them off. I trust Lambert's judgement on signing a player. Look what he done at Norwich with lower league players! Look how many players have signed for premier league teams from lower league teams over the years and done well. What's to say our new boys can't do well too!?! The time to worry is not when there are 36 games left! The time to worry is if things aren't going too well up to around Christmas. The new boys will need abit of time to adapt and the team will need time to gel. Luckily, time IS on our side. Be patient!
  15. He's in London. He's been there for a few weeks now as they are filming the new Fast and Furious movie. (Fast 6)
  16. Is Ireland taking the piss or what!?! He's already on around 60k a week and a new contract in football almost certainly means a pay rise. I blame you, yes, YOU, the people reading this post! I still can't believe people voted him as player of the season! It has clearly gone to his head and made him think that he's more over with the fans than he actually is! If Ireland agreed to a pay cut then he would win me over as it would show real commitment. The chances of this happening? ZERO! When he first signed, he did an interview where he said "Don't worry Villa fans, I'm a better player than Milner anyway!" The delusion of a footballer!
  17. You're obsessed with N'Zonzi. You mention him in this thread nearly everyday! FWIW, I don't rate him.
  18. Why do some people think Downing would even want to come back? Personally, I think he'd rather sit on the bench at Liverpool than crawl back to Villa with his tail between his legs. I would be very shocked if it happened!
  19. Yeah, I agree. I've seen Bennett play a few times for Middlesbrough and England Under 21's and he's done well. Benteke and Stephens I haven't seen. I'm all for signing young players and I trust Lambert's judgement but at the same time we still need a few more experienced heads on board. **** it, I'm throwing it out there... Joey Barton on a free anyone? Banned for 9 more games but despite his troubles I think he'd do well for us. We need someone like him. Someone that can put the cat amongst the pidgeons. We've got too many nice guys and lightweights in the team. We could do with a dickhead or two! I'd also take Owen Hargreaves on a pay as you play deal. Definitely worth a gamble that is! Put him in front of the back four. If he gets injured it's not like we'd have to keep paying him thousands every week. With the budget as limited as it is, I'm just trying to be realistic.
  20. If the transfer gets completed and 2.75 million turns out to be the correct fee then we have done well with this deal to be fair! I've seen him play a few times for Middlesbrough and England Under 21's and he's played decent.
  21. Welcome back to VT. I've been watching live coverage of it on CNN. They've got Anderson Cooper in New Orleans, looking like a drowned rat, standing by a bridge that goes over the Mississippi river into Downtown New Orleans. It looks pretty bad! Stay safe. All the best!
  22. Kane's anger management segment stole the show!
  23. Out of all the younger lads, Lichaj is the most improved. I wasn't too keen on him at first but he's won me over. What I found strange is that he did well in pre season then the season starts and Baker has played left back instead of Lichaj. Money is obviously limited so IF we do make signings over the next few days, I'd say that there are far more important areas that need to be addressed than left back.
