I met Jon Jones two years ago at a UFC fan expo in London and I got the impression that he was an arrogant prick. Bearing in mind, this was at a time when he was still climbing the ladder and still unknown to many. I wasn't keen on him at all. When I heard about what happened I honestly wasn't surprised at all. The excuse that he has tried to come out with is absolute bullshit too! Then when he found out he would be fighting Machida on September 22nd he tried to get it put back to a later date. To add to the drama, Machida turned down the title shot and Vitor Belfort will now fight Jon Jones for the title on 22nd September. I heard a conference call that Dana White did earlier with a load of MMA journalists and he was understandably FUMING!!! One of the things I like about Dana is that he speaks his mind regardless.

Has anyone on here even seen that Cresswell play before? Be honest! I know I haven't. It just seems that a lot of people are mentioning him just because we enquired. I know nobody was saying we should sign him before the story about our enquiry. To anyone that has actually seen him play (more than once), would he be worth the risk? Do you think he could make the step up? Do you think he'd do a better job than Lichaj?

I am fully behind Lambert BUT, if we do sell Dunne and we don't bring in another centre half then it is a huge mistake! Having Vlaar, Clark, Baker and apparently Herd to cover the centre is not good enough. From what I've seen of Baker I'm not impressed. He should be out on loan. I'm not the biggest fan of Clark either. He seems far too lightweight, especially if him and Vlaar are going to be the number one pairing. As for Herd, I know he's a natural right back but can he even play centre half? I have my doubts! Very big risk to sell Dunne and not replace him. Imagine if Vlaar gets injured! Would you be confident seeing Clark and Baker as our centre half partnership? I definitely wouldn't.

He's rubbish at defending. He should be a left winger, not a left back! If we were playing with wing backs then he'd be a decent option but in a 4-4-2? Not for me.

I'd definitely have Charlie Adam at Villa. He was awesome for Blackpool. We'd finally have a decent set piece taker too! He's only 26, he'd be a great option if we could get him. I'd have Carroll here as well. Not sticking up for players like N'Zogbia but I think having someone like Carroll in the team would definitely help. At the moment, N'Zogbia runs with the ball, tries to take on the world and loses it. It must be hard for a midfielder or winger when the only player you have to aim for is Bent. Carroll is obviously a big target and if crosses are flying in left, right and centre he will cause all sorts of problems, as well as leaving opportunities for Bent to pounce. Bent was quality at Sunderland when he had a big man up there with him (Kenwyne Jones). Not only that, Carroll is decent at holding the ball up, which would allow Ireland to get involved more. Shame it's only twitter bullshit!

If you can't handle other people's opinions in threads that you create then maybe you should stop creating them! For what it's worth, relegation IS a possibility. Of course it is, but it is far too early to be even talking about it. If we are struggling come December/January then fair enough but to be talking about relegation after a 1-0 defeat on the opening day of the season is ridiculous.

Pointless

Started off very well. First 20 mins we controlled the game and were passing it around nicely. Then we were poor, very poor! I was standing there thinking I was having a bit of the old de ja vu because the performance reminded me of the bullshit we had to sit through last season. What the **** was that second half performance all about!?! Absolutely dreadful. Very questionable starting line up from Lambert. Baker at left back? Erm, yeah, if you say so, Paul. The squad is not good enough at all. Mourinho or Guardiola wouldn't be able to do a lot with these players so I wouldn't expect Lambert to be able to either! I'm hearing Lerner was there to witness this? Surely he knows we aren't good enough!!! I am not asking for Man City mega millions but after recently gaining about 700 million I'm sure Randy could find 20-30 million to give Lambert a proper chance!

Defoe has been a proven goalscorer at Premier League level for the last 10 years. Even last season when he was in and out of the team he still scored 17 goals overall. Some would argue that he is a better finisher than Bent too! I'd definitely have Defoe here. He's 30 soon which is not ideal but he'd still be a great signing. I think Defoe and Bent could play together. They are different players. Bent is a penalty box poacher, Defoe is too but his overall game is more well rounded than Bent. Defoe can drop deep to recieve the ball and run forward with it, beating one or two players in the process. Dropping deep to recieve the ball isn't really Bent's thing. Defoe could be the link between Bent and the midfield. I reckon it would work.

I went to watch The Expendables 2 last night. I thought it was good. Some funny parts and some good action parts. I liked the first one, mainly due to the cast and as a big action movie fan it was good to see even more action movie stars this time. If you liked the first one then this one is definitely worth watching. Could have been better but still enjoyed it. 7/10.

Fair enough, It is a public forum and everyone is entitled to their opinions but some of the stuff I've just read over the last 7 or 8 pages is beyond dumb! Surely, some of it has got to be "trolling"!?! Anyway, while I am nowhere near hitting the panic button, I was definitely hoping for a few more arrivals before tomorrow. Obviously that won't be happening now but I would expect to see at least two more new faces in before the window shuts. I know we still need to sort the defence out but my main concern is up front if Bent gets injured. Actually, even if he does stay fit, we can't just rely on Bent to score. A winger/ACM is needed too. There are no guarantees that Ireland and N'Zogbia are both going to have a much better season. Who is going to create the chances if them pair are playing shit!?!

I see quite a few people say that the squad is too small when actually it isn't. We have at least two or three options for every position. The problem isn't having a small squad. The problem is there are players in the squad that are simply not good enough! Now, I know what I've written in this post may seem obvious to many and it may even warrant a reference to a certain player and his throw ins but I see too often that people try to use the small squad excuse when it really isn't true!

The fact that pretty much anyone can vote on the song choice is stupid. There will be a lot of votes made by people who don't even attend games when quite frankly their opinion should be irrelevant on topics like this!
