  1. I admire your constant support of him Bunnski, but he is a very limited player, who might do 2 or 3 good things in a game, but doesn't make him a good player. Yday was a good example of Westwood, did ok, didn't impose himself, didn't stand out, didn't do anything exceptional.Gave the ball away too much, and too often fails to open the game up by playing too many safe passes. Sanchez stood out yday, Delph could probably play alongside him, but for me neither Westwood or Cleverley do enough.
  2. He is worth £75k per week, only because he will go on a free otherwise. He is not a top 4 player imho, and probably would'nt get in Spuds or Everton. Tbh i think Delphs attitude is a bit disappointing , especially after he didn't play for a good 12 months, and i would probably try and do a deal for him and Vlaar, with prospective buyers in Jan.
  3. Hes the only natural attacking midfielder we have on the books. He gets in the box.For me him Sanchez and Delph would be a better balanced midfield than with Cleverley or Westwood. Not sure hes good enough, but we have no goal threat from midfield.
  4. NRC always played well against Ronaldo.I seem to recall him playing RB against Ure once, and he marked Ronaldo out the game. A very limited player, who thought he was far better than he actually was, didn't appreciate what he was good at, and failed to be as good as he should have been.I don't think Westwood has an attitude problem tbh.
  5. McLaren.........we need someone to coach the players properly.
  6. He is certainly well liked by the media, they was talking him up before the game, and the commentator was talking him up during the game. I take absolutely no pleasure in his poor performance last night, i would like nothing more than Westwood to turn out as good as Bunnski and Stefan think he will be, i just can't see it myself.
  7. Thats what i said Stevo, after GH and before. We've never really had a great technical coach, but this bloke atm is up there with McNeill.
  8. Yeah, and the 2nd.Only had the near post really to cover, wasn't close enough to it. Mind you tbf, he has generally been pretty solid.
  9. Have to say it has been a problem since GH, and before him as well. Gabby drives me to frustration, his lack of movement, or awareness is incredibly irritating.Seeing him saunter into the box last night makes me wonder how much coaching he has had, he never anticipates, or anticipates, and i don't think its any coincidence that the one true coach we had as a manager, GH, never played him. On top of that, having no midfielders who try to run past the forwards, and create space, and options for others, leads me to the conclusion that PLs recruitment, and awareness of the problems, and how to rectify them, are non-exxistant.No options, no quality, no awareness, no chance, no future.
  10. Has he ever been coached? Never makes runs off the ball, run into space, anticipate mistakes/fumbles, makes runs across defenders, utilise his pace.An incredibly brainless player, and an incredible waste of our money. Hope we give him a contract to sell him.
  11. Never going to be half as good as some on here think.Again did one good pass tonight, played further forward, in a more advanced role, supposedly his best position, but did nothing.Dwells on the ball, rarely picks a good pass, not incisive, can't beat a man, a very average player, but then again, we are a very average team. If Westwood is still in the 1st team by the end of the season, then we will be down. Cleverley is never a £8m player either.
  12. Not up to the pace of the game, but showed enough tonight to show that he is potentially, apart from Delph, the only decent midfielder at the club. I'm quicker than Westwood Cleveley and Cole.
  13. To be fair to NZog, i'm not sure he understands PLs tactics on where he is supposed to be playing. Is he playing off CB, or as a winger?, is he there to create chances or to score goals? He wasn't as useless as Gabby yday, but neither are good enough, and nor is Weimann tbh. I'd play Grealish against QPR, he can't be as bad as those 3, and in Jan, instead of buying Cleverley, buy a Tadic kind of player.
  14. They played some reasonable football at times yday, but when we had the ball just outside the box, there is no movement from Gabby or Nzog, and no late runs from midfield. We have no midfielder, whos game is to make late runs into the box, or even get on the edge of the box, nobody to take a shot. The balance and quality in the final 1/3rd is not good enough. We need a Sanchez kind of player in the midfield, a Delph or Cleverley player alongside him, and a Platt/Taylor kind of midfielder alongside them, up front we need 2 new players to play off CB/Kozak, Nzogs and Gabbys movement is woeful. PL needs to step up and improve the movement off the ball, the lack of his seeming understanding of the game, and how to change games, worries me tbh
  15. For £2m he is a good signing.Plenty of pace, aggressie, he was poor yday, there seemed to be a general lack of concentration, but overall i think he has been good. The crossing, and choice of final pass, is a bug bear of mine.Poor choices and poor quality, it has to come from the manager, and coaching. We have enough good players to expect better quality in the final 1/3rd.
  16. A £4/5 million player imho, a bit like Steve Davis, but not as many goals in hi
  17. Did one good pass in the game. Completely overrated, didn't do his job as a defensive midfielder. He has a pass on him, but for me is far too cautious.Half of our problems are because we don't compete for the ball higher up the pitch enough.Westwood would get on better if we had Sanchez in the midfield, we lack a physical presence. Compare Barry to Westwood today, and that is what we lack.
  18. Doesn't help when you have 2 players up front who make no movement, and don't offer anything. Gabby , Westwood, Richardson and NZog were all poor today, and offered not enough going forward.Back to square one.
  19. I completely disagree Trent. It is not a West problem. The reason why we keep being targeted is because we keep interfering. It is a Muslim problem, that must have a muslim solution. The West can offer mediation, but its up to Turkey, Saudi et al to sort out Isis imho.
  20. Well you're obsessed with Westwood Stefan, and will have no criticism of him at all, so whats the point?
  21. "Sanchez has done naff all in a Villa shirt", after 1 game. Your comments about the Arse game indicate that you don't want Sanchez in the team because you rate Westwood so highly.
  22. Read my post earlier.Sanchez is a proper defensive midfielder who played well in the WC for one of the best teams in it.Just because he wasn't very good in his 1st game i haven't written him off like you obviously have.
  23. I think we are a long way away from 6/7 years ago, but saying that CB is as good a striker as i have seen down VP since the 70s, the defence looks settled, i like Delph, and think Sanchez will be fine.I think we need 2 or 3 good footballers in the team to go with thw above named 7 , and we will be comfortably in the top 8.
  24. I think you are right tinker. Is it me or is he trying too hard to impress since he got into the England team? I hope he stays, i think he could be a good player for us.
