  1. Agree with that poitier. One thing i like about Delph is he doesn't hide. Not at his best, but would still be in my 1st team.
  2. Gabby didn't threaten though. I think Mourinhio bringing on Mikel, and closing the gaps that Gil was getting into stopped our momentum tbh.Sinclair was probably the man to open it up, but he didn't get much change out of Ivanovic.
  3. He was poor last week, but i thought he was trying to do too much today. He needs to give the ball to Gil, and Cole or Sinclair if they are playing, quicker.
  4. Didn't see much evidence of that today tbh smertov. CB is definitely off form, but he is far more of a goal threat than Gabby.
  5. Gabby does nothing though.Doesn't look like scoring, doesn't hold the ball up. doesn't link well, hasn't got a touch. All he does is look for free kicks all the time. We are a better team without Gabby in imho.
  6. I know. Don't find him too bad about us tbh, but i feel dirty saying that.Mind you i am of the age when he and Sir Brian were playing, and it was good times.
  7. No he wasn't Bunnski, he brought it down, played it backwards to Okores, who played it to Hutton, wh o played it to Cissokho, who then played it back to Clark, that is why the commentators made their comments. I thought he was ok today, nothing special, i just think he spends too long on the ball.We need to speed it up.
  8. Don't disagree with that then Stevo. The problem for me is that i think PL has misinterpreted increased possession as being improved performances. We play too many safe passes, thats why Gil is so important, and hopefully Sinclair in the near future. For me though, you can only play 2 of Westwood, Cleverley, Bacuna, Sanchez or Delph, if you want to win games.
  9. Tired the last 20, but is a joy to watch. We would be a very poor team without him in it.
  10. No its not! We are 2-1 down at home, his 1st instinct is to play the ball safe, and keep the ball, fine in the 70th minute, but in the 85th you have to try and take a chance and look for a ball forward. Funny how the 2 commentators, both commented that we don't get the ball forward quick enough. You could argue with that kind of opinion its no surprise why we have only scored 1 goal in 10 hours.
  11. 2 wins in 20. Get rid of him to get us a chance.I still maintain we are not far off a reasonable team.
  12. 5 minutes to go, hes playing the ball back, to keep posession. He needs to speed the game up not slow it down. He was ok today, not a fan tbh, but without Gil we would be a very poor team going forward. There was a moment in injury time when Westwood had the ball, wa looking for a pass to Hutton, and Gil took the ball off him, ran forward 5 yds, committed a player, and played the ball into space for Cissokho to get a cross in, we won a corner from it.Its the lack of urgency in Westwoods game that annoys me, would have Sanchez every time.
  13. He was ok, just nowe what we need. PLs subs changed the game today, we lost all momentum when he made them.
  14. We haven't got a midfielder who likes to get in the box, or makes runs of CB, a la Platt or Ian Taylor.Sanchez and Delph , with Gil just in front, is a good start, Tim Cahill would have been a good short term buy, and Alli a good long term buy, but we have much of a muchness in midfield unfortunately. Bad recruitment imho
  15. Its not CB that is the problem, its the supply to CB that is the problem. I like Lambert, not sure he is worth £5m, but we need a good attacking midfielder 1st.Wouldn't mind Cahill tbh.
  16. One of the reasons why for me Bacuna should start against Chelsk. The midfield for me , normally , should be Delph and Sanchez, with Gil in front, and 2 better attacking players alongside CB, neither Bacuna or Westwood would be in my 1st team, but today against Arse, and probably next week, i would have started with Bacuna alongside Sanchez and Delph, and made us harder to beat. Its all about opinions.
  17. I have seen little evidence of this exceptional passer you talk about, sideways passers yes, but hes no Cropley or Cowans is he?
  18. More than 2 seasons ago Steffan, got another one? Oh and Bacuna got 7 goals? last season, how many has Westwood scored since hes been here? I hope Westwood comes in and turns us around, we desperately need something, but i'm not as convinced about him as you are,.
  19. Yeah, show me a pass that Westwood has done in the last 2 seasons as good as the one Bacuna did to Hutton against Bournemouth.
  20. It was lack of creativity, not keeping the ball.We had 52% of possession, but lost 5-0, so keeping the ball isn't the problem, lack of creativity is.At least Bacuna gives us more energy, more of a goal threat, and possibly better passing than Westwood, so put him in instead of Cleverley.
  21. What with our crossing? CB looks absolutely bereft of confidence, he had a couple of half chances at the start of the 2nd half when he should have done better, but the quality of crossing was absolutely abysmal.
  22. He should have played Bacuna instead anyway, and played deeper. To go toe to toe, and play so high was suicidal. We need more Gils in the team, midfielders who can do something on the ball.
  23. Westwood and Delph alongside Sanchez are absolutely the wrong direction to go in.We need more Gils.Hes the only one in the team who tries things, all the rest play safe, square passes. We had 52% possession today, but lost the game 5-0.What does that tell you?....that we don;t know what to do with it when we have it.No running off the ball from the forwards or midfield, nobody taking the ball, apart from Gil, who actually runs at the opposition, and tries to hurt them, nobody up front with any confidence. We looked awful today, and i blame PL, as Carragher said, we played far too high up the pitch, and left too many gaps to our defence. He should have started with Bacuna, Sanchez and Delph, and kept it tight, his over exposure of Clark left a goal down after 10 mins, and that was it. Sanchez had a poor game, but he doesn't have many, and we certainly need him , and Delph alongside him, to play well in the next few weeks.
