Watch the goal again.Westwood, as the deep lying, if you like defensive midfielder, is to play in front of the CHs.When Toure picks the ball up, Westwood is in the right position, but he moves away, he doesn't need to, Toure runs past Delph, and Cleverley, far too easy granted, but he runs into the area where Westood was/should have been.I f he would have held his position, the probability is Toure wouldn't have scored. This is why i don't rate Westwood, its not about ability, or passing, its about knowing how to play your position, and i don't think he contributes enough in this department to justify his place, or contribute enough in other aspects of his game to compensate for it.

I think hes a clever player, and some of his 1st time passing is a bit above some of the players around him, saying that, i'm not sure hes a £8m player.I see Sigurdsson, and Dembele, they are/would have been, cheaper, and if we going to spend that amount, i would add a bit more, and buy a better player. A £5m player imho.

You don't think, that as the deeper lying midfield player, he should have got to Toure quicker for the goal, or been more aware of where Silva was for most the game?

You could argue Bunnski that we should have been 2 up.Richardson should have done much better, and the other run of N'zog should have led to either a goal, or a good chance as well. I don't dislike N'Zog, and he certainly is our best attacking player bar CB imho, but for me, for us to get better we need more goals around the team, and more creativity, and i don't think N'Zog is going to improve that.

Too often he is given the ball, by Westwood in particular, when he shouldn't be, and he has no option but to get rid of it. A good solid defender, and still young, still dives in too much, and throws himself at the ball too much, but against Aguero yday, for me the best striker in the Prem, i thought he played well, and didn't look out of place. I think the defence is sort of sorted atm, with Sissokho, Hutton and Senderos all being fairly solid.

I don't expect him to sign tbh.For me if he was going to sign, he would have done it by now. If i'm being honest, i don't think he is much better than us anyway, i can't see him getting in a top 6 team, as someone said, he gets away from players well, but then doesn't use it well.For him to get better he needs to play week in week out, he won't do that at many teams higher in the league than us imho.

Never picks the right pass for me, as Trent said, its not going to change. Not good enough for me, we need better players off CB, him Andi and Gabby are not good enough, Jack might be.

I'm going to hold fire on Lambert until he has some serious money to spend. I actually think we have the basis of a reasonable team, but the next 2 or 3 purchases need to be good quality, to improve the team significantly.I do worry about the style of play, and the lack of possession, but i don't think there are many options on the bench. We need better players to play of CB, if he gets 1 or 2 in, then i think we will significantly improve.

I thought he was ok today. Overcommits sometimes, but is steady.

So was Richardson tbh. Won't do him any harm, will show him the level he needs to strive to be. The problem tonight was failure to pick out the right pass, he is probably one of the only players in the squad who might have the ability to pick a pass, so to play him tonight for 20 mins was a no brainer to me.

For me he would fit in Barca or Real Madrid now. Barca lack height, and CB, for me , is better than Benzema.He might not be the finished article yet, but hes what 23?....he will be. You could argue with FFP, Benteke allows us another £30/40m to spend.

I think in todays market Delph is worth a contract of about £50 k per week.He is 24, developing nicely, and a replacement would probaly cost about £8/10m and be older and be on about £50k per week, so £50/60 k i would think would be a good business decision.

The same people who were running Sanchez down last week Stefan? Praise where praise is due.He wasn't excellent yday, and he wasn't better than Delph or Cleverley, the over praise he gets is ridiculous.We lacked quality in midfield yday, we offered no threat, and that is because against teams like Chelsk, Westwood , Cleverley and Delph are not good enough.I believe only one of them ever will be.

Having both injured at the same time has been incredibly unlucky. We miss a focal point up top, someone to hold it up and bring other players into the game.Probably one of the reasons why we have such poor possession rates.

Best midfielder yday?..........good grief.This guy is incredibly talked up.Too safe yday, can't think of one telling pass, very average, no more no less, but to say he was excellant is absolutely ridiculous.

Its not zonal marking, its shape.You have a shape to defend certain situations, man at the front post, man in the middle, fb covering the back post.Nothing that Baker did was partic bad, in comparison watch Clark last week for the 2nd goal.

You mark space to minimize danger, that is what Baker was doing.His positioning wasn't bad, but Costas movement was very good.Full stop.No blame to Baker, much to the displeasure of some on here. I thought Weimann and Richardson were very poor today, and the midfield 3 need to be better on the ball, and better in possession.They we're more to blame today than Baker.

Might sound silly as we lost 3-0, but i thought the defence coped reasonably well today, restricted a very good team to very few chances.Chelsk and Citeeeeh are way above everyone else, and i thought all 4 defenders were reasonable.

Baker held his position on the front post, a good position.Costa made a good run across him, a good run, from a good player.You can criticize Baker if you want to, but i think sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say well done.

I think Costa deserves more credit than Baker deserves blame tbh.

We need his physicality in the team asap .Against teams like Chelsk and Citeeeh, our current 4 midfielders are far too lightweight.

Thought he played ok again today.We looked a lot better defensively imho than last week. Chelsk, much as i hate to say it, are a very good team,.Well balanced, physical, inventive, fluent........bastards.
