Martinez...best Villa goalie ever Cash....clattered their best player, never a red card, but apart from that not his best game. Not ideal, but probably a telling contribution. Digne....been our best player recently, another good performance. Carlos.......I really like Diego, very good passer, and reads the game really well. Should start for me. Konsa.......picked up this year, not sure he plays in a 3 very well though. Got caught out today in 1st minute, and at Noocastle. Pau....top quality, keep hold as long as we can Kamara....not as good as last season, but certainly better in the 2nd half. Our best midfielder Luiz.....In Bentacurs shadow in the 1st half, got better when he went off. Hes ok to me , no more. McGinn.......typical McGinn, wholehearted effort, and a positive impact. For me we should play him or Luiz. Diaby.......not his best game, but always offers himself. Puts a shift in, and is a good signing. Watkins........does what he does, could have had hat trick today, took his goal really well. You can never fault Watkins contribution or effort Tielemans.........always looks to be positive.Not sure he is fully fit, could be our Bentacour Bailey......good impact sub, but I wish he would get his head up quicker/stop trying to score every time he gets it. Good to see Ramsey and Duran get minutes as well. When fully fit, Ramsey is a definite starter After the game, it was all about Spuds unlucky, but apart from the double save, I thought their goalie made more saves. January is going to be really interesting, Don't think we need anymore squad players, probably players to come straight into the 1st team. I'm not as bothered about Cash as some others are, but i would like a top quality midfielder, Bentacur kind of player, and probably a top quality right attacker, a la Olise/Neto. As I say a very intriguing transfer window.

Gerrard tried to get Bentancur and Kamara as a CM pairing. That would have been very interesting

Cost £5m Made the 1st goal, quite direct/positive. Good attitude, works hard, nothing to dislike tbh. Granted he is not top quality, and i'm sure Ramsey, when fully fit, will be in the team, but overall I like him

Today, and Brighton, showed that we are at the level now whereby we need to bring in young top quality players to get higher. Players who we currently rate need to be upgraded. For me I would go after Neto, and another midfielder, but Emery seems to know what he is doing. Exciting times. A word for DS as well. How much would we get for nearly all of his signings?

If there is any truth in the rumours about Neto, a strike force of him, Ramsey, Watkins and Diaby would bve very exciting. I wouldn't be surprised if we try to sign a top quality passing midfielder as well

Allen hasnt fought for about 4 years, and i think it showed. Be nice to see him back to his best, always entertaining, Clarke is average tbh

He is our best outfield player. We build a team around him and Ramsey in midfield. He is a top 4 player

Not sure he would cost £50m, more like £30m for me. We need a passer to play alongside Kamara. We don't move the ball quick enough. Missed Ramsey and his pace yday. Impressed with Gallacher today, he puts a shift in and has a fair amount of ability

If Chelsk get the 2 midfielders, would Gallacher be worth a punt?

The 2nd goal highlighted that good coaches realise that Villas insistance on playing a high line is a weakness. Moreno, Cash and Carlos are quick enough to compensate for Paus perceived lack of pace. He brought the ball out well yesterday, and played yhe ball to the midfielders to do their job, they didn't. Got a bit of Hansen about him

Missed his energy. Should of moved him inside. Noocastle had too much energy in the middle of the park. Need a passer in the middle of the park

Sancho is too much of a gamble for me. Reminds me of Hudson-Odi, what looks a tremendous talent, never seems to develop. From all the players linked, the one , for me, that looked the most interesting was the Brazilian kid from Betis.
