    Quiz!

21 and amazed super Kev isn't one of them
  4. He was woeful every time he played. No worse than Bennett for me Far worse in my view and seemingly that of Lambert. Totally agree TrentVilla. Even allowing for a settling in period, he was way out of his depth and never looked capable of improving whereas Bennett is definitely a good footballer who will improve and mature under Lambert.
  5. That's because it's not strictly grass!
  6. Wouldn't be surprised if the partnership was Okore & Clark once Okore has adjusted to the pace of the premier league. Although Clark is capable of dropping clangers he appears to have more pace than Vlaar.
  7. I think another midfielder could be vital, while we have serious competition at centre back, I can't help but think our midfield are going to be burnt out over Christmas, KAE has really stepped up and is like a new signing himself, add in forgotten man Sylla, and I think we just need another player who could maybe do the Delph role just to keep lads fresh. I agree. What we need would be an energetic central midfielder, who's prepared to assume a squad role for the time being. In an ideal world, said player would be able to cover a number of positions. You get where I'm going with this, right? I'm with you, sadly I don't think it'll happen.

    Chelsea

Personally I despise Chelski. No history or heritage, they're like chavvy lottery winners. I have worked around London for the last 25 years and their fans are on a par with the noses for being uneducated when talking football. Last night's result and the post match comments by their arrogant big headed manager have reinforced my opinion.
  9. I heard they've lost around 17 of the last 26 games. Hopefully this form will continue indefinitely.
  10. I'm happy with Herd as a right back option. And as it stands we also still have Alan to call upon if required.........
  11. everyone does it Not with Sylla and Villa as lyrics!
  12. Ranks alongside "my garden shed" as my least favourite chants in recent years. Would rather we sang old favourites like "the bells are ringing" and" i do like to be beside the seaside" I agree with ciggiesnbeer about the Sylla chant. It's unique to us.
  13. Agree. Bannan is an average footballer who is surplus to requirements at Villa and I wish him luck wherever he ends up. He gets more stick than he deserves.
  14. In keeping with most of the Stoke playing staff, Shawdross isn't adept at using his feet to propel the ball unless it needs to travel in excess of 50 yards. He is better using his head although I would suspect he could quite easily make the transition to the ball game where the players pick up the ball and run towards the other end of the pitch. I hope we are adopting a different footballing philosophy to that practiced in Stoke.
  15. was it you standing in the middle tier close to the Villa fans recording us on your phone?
  16. Utterr drivel written by bitter, deluded, jealous half wits. Strange how many claimed they "couldn't make the game today" - maybe we should start a thread on reasons why.
  17. Great day out yesterday at The Emirates, I was far too inebriated to attempt posting on here when i got home. After a dodgy start we grew into the game and at 1-1 i always thought we'd win it. Rosicky caused one of two issues with his clever give and go passes which left us flat footed at times but credit to all the players for a very good team performance. I gave Gabby MOTM but Delph was a close second and I also thought Clark was excellent when he came on. Credit to the Gooners, plenty of them praised our performance after the game. Onwards and upwards !!
  18. Habib Beye? I know he was pre Nelson but Gary Charles takes some beating as the worst right back in the last 35 years.
  19. Good luck DB9. His goal at Wigan epitomised his ability to score when given the service, however I'm certain Benteke will give us a much better goal return than DB9.
  20. I agree. His goal against SHA and the poor quality of his immediate replacements enhanced his reputation but his display against us when we battered Bolton was one oif the worst I have witnessed by a centre half. He couldn't handle Carew that day. Kenny Miller ran him ragged on wednesday and Miller is League 1 standard at best.
