  1. More attempts on target More attempts off target More corners More possession But you still don't think we deserved to win? They hit the post twice and could have easily got a penalty from Baker? Yeah but we had a good second half so clearly none of that happened. Okay guys you're right. Despite us having more attempts on and off target Cardiff should've won.
  2. Spot on. Always available for a pass and offers an option to those around him. Very underrated in my opinion.
  3. I once had lunch with Princess Anne I was stuck in a lift with Noel Gallagher My brother was a classmate of Ozzy Osbourne
  4. Let's face it, they could drop 11 players and probably still muster a team capable of beating us. Quite possibly but they may also have an off day.
  5. Citeh face Barcelona in the second leg 3 days after we play them so hopefully they will rest a couple of players. 6 points would be a reasonable return

  7. I agree but being positive is frowned upon!
  8. Also confirms we won't go down as both Fulham and Cardiff are both deep in the mire considering we are at our best away from home.....we have took 1 point from these two, who you describe as good as dead and buried.....I can only wonder at your powers of deduction. So you believe they'll gain enough points to finish above us then? I can only wonder at your powers of negativity
  9. Sums it up perfectly. Voted Vlaar MOTM as his influence is massive. At least he now has 12 days rest before we go again. Had Gabby put away that chance we would be well clear of the bottom 3. Both Cardiff centre halves did very well and although I'm critical about Baker, apart from his manhandling of Jones in the area he had a decent game. Also confirms we won't go down as both Fulham and Cardiff are both deep in the mire and having looked at the remaining fixtures I think Sunderland are also favourites to go. That is a brave statement! Fortune favours the brave!
  10. I agree. They needed a reaction after the Swansea defeat and didn't get it. If they don't pick up maximum points from their next 2 home games they are well and truly f****d. 6 of their remaining fixtures are against teams below us so the pressure mounts with every game.
  11. we need 12 points from 12 games, easily doable. I think as low as 37 points will be sufficient this season. There are tough run ins for most of the teams below us.

  13. Eh no, he is our only midfielder who is capable of playing decent forward passes. His passing is fine, the only thing wrong with his role in the team is that he is never a defensive midfielder. He would be better suited to play in a midfield with a proper defensive midfielder behind him so then he could just concentrate on what he is good at. Delph.....................Westwood ............New DMF.................... Agree. Westwood keeps the ball moving and if the movement up front was better he would have more options.
  14. Why should we be confident? We're decent away from home and if we can get a draw at Anfield we can get 3 points at Cardiff. My glass is always half full ! A couple of mistakes cost us on saturday; and as long as we don't press the self destruct button tonight we'll win. I reckon Lambert read the riot act after the game on saturday so I doubt we'll see Delph trying to dribble his way from the edge of his own box.
  15. Nice to see the thread is full of confidence! A victory for us tonight by at least a 2 goal margin with Benteke and Weimann scoring.
  16. He's too slow. He'll only improve if we appoint Usain Bolt to the coaching team.
  17. Can't understand why he's given the captain's armband when Vlaar is absent. No disrespect to Gabby but not likely to inspire his teammates with a motivational speech.
  18. The defender we need doesn't need to be as good as Vlaar. To improve us when he is out they just need to be better than Baker. No offence to Baker but a player of that caliber shouldn't be too hard to find/purchase so long as you have the necessary finance to bring them in of course. Finding someone better than Baker wouldn't be difficult. He's got the turning circle of a super tanker. I'd rather see Donacien given an opportunity as I have very little faith in Baker.
  19. Yeah I think he'd do that too. I don't dislike the bloke at all, I think as a chairman he genuinely has had the clubs best interests at heart. He's just made some awful mistakes and had to learn some things the hard way. I imagine he himself now knows he's not up to the job of owning a Premier League team. I agree with PieFacE. I think he bought the club with the best intentions but the footballing landscape has changed and he's realised he's out of his depth. I don't dislike Lerner - overall he's done more for this club in his short term as owner than HDE did (the appointment of AM apart). We tried to gatecrash the top 4 for a couple of seasons but as other posters have said it's a sad reflection that a club of our size has flirted with relegation for 3 seasons in a row and may possibly do so again this season.
  20. 7 points - we will beat Cardiff and Wet Spam and draw against the Toon.
  21. Spot on. 40 points will be more than enough this season so 3 wins and 2/3 draws will suffice. It's not unrealistic to think we can get 3 wins out of the next 4 games and then maybe we can relax to a certain degree.
  22. It would be interesting to see Zog play when we're not in the relegation mix. It might allow him to play with a little more freedom and also cut him some slack from his critics.
