  1. How does that work? Hopefully you'll get an explanation via PM and not for all to read.....
  2. However, once you suffer one, you're more likely to re tear it. He probably won't, but there's a higher chance he will than the average player. Thats bollocks. Plenty of players who have done their cruciate and gone on to have perfectly decent careers. If they didn't there would be a mass of retired players.. Sadly it's not bollocks. I've done mine twice and the surgeon who performed the second op confirmed a new ACL has an average lifespan of 10 years.
  3. Hopefully his agent isn't using our enquiry to generate more interest from other clubs.
  4. We'll never know how good he could be because he's not had the chance to show us.
  5. It seems to me so far: Mark Regan has an interview with Lambert. Asks leading questions about the importance of the FA cup Lambert had just had his 2nd choice CF who was hitting form out for the season with a broken leg. Feels a bit down and lets his guard drop. Gives honest answer. Media jump on honest answer and sensationalise it. AVFC go into damage limitation mode, Brian Doogan rings Mark Regan and has a massive go. Mark Regan is then very pissed off with AVFC so then decides to keep banging on about it to stick the knife in. The majority of the sports broadcasters at that station are anti Villa. Their opinions are worthless.

So what does this say about Stan James?
  7. Sadly I don't think Lerner cares.....he didn't release funds last year when our situation was more precarious so I doubt he will now even though some of the bomb squads wages are being partly subsidised elsewhere.
  8. Too many teams now focus their attacks along our left hand side. Needs a rest once Bennett is up and running.
  9. I agree with much of what you are saying but I wouldn't sack Lambert. I'd give him the rest of the season as a minimum especially if he is backed to a degree during this window. His hands have been tied to a degree with what he has been allowed to spend on mostly bargain basement players. I also doubt whether some of the players have the capacity to take on board a lot of the basics you quite rightly point out.
  10. I was impressed by him today. Held the ball up well and bought others into play.
  11. I thought he was ok going forward today - made some good runs that weren't picked out. Still doesn't track his runner though which results in his full back being exposed.
  12. The current situation is nowhere near as awful as the year we were relegated. It was very poor today. It appears that Lambert has asked for some experience so if Lerner doesn't back him this month then it speaks volumes for me that Lambert is vulnerable. I've been pro Lambert but I'm wavering now. Bar Vlaar and Gabby we fielded what was arguably our strongest outfield players and that is the most worrying aspect of today.
  13. How many German porn movies have you made?
  14. Hoolahan is decent so I'm happy with him coming if it allows us to add a couple more in addition to him. Just because Hughton isn't selecting him doesn't mean he's no good.
  15. Totally agree with thetrees. Having met both Lerner and Ellis, there's no comparison. For all his faults as an owner Lerner is a gentleman of the highest order.
  16. Nearly, he called it the Preeemiership. Despite 20+ years of continual advertising he's still unique in referring to it in that manner.
  17. That would really test the loyalty of fans of a certain generation! I don't think I could chant that on matchday!
  18. I was daft enough to buy 80 shares at £11 each when he floated the club only to see them drop to around £7 the day after floatation. The old bugger has taken more money off me than I care to remember and still acted with contempt towards us. At least Lerner has the decency to stay away and not rub my face in it on match day!!!
  19. Can't be bothered to watch the video but does he refer to the preeemier league in it?
  20. I'd like to wish Herbert a happy birthday but there's no doubt we are better off without him as chairman.
  21. He could finish originally. Just lost his confidence after missing a couple of sitters against Everton and West Ham. I agree. It seems that he's low on confidence so I'd play him tomorrow in the hope he scores and gives him a lift. I don't buy into all the criticism he's getting accusing him of not being bothered or being lazy. He's a young player who's suffering from a dip in form. He'll come good.
  22. And he's right. Indeed he is although I'm old fashioned and look forward to the 3rd round of the FA cup. It's a shame we didn't pick up more points against Sunderland and Palace at home and Fulham and Stoke away as we'd be in a far healthier position in the league and therefore maybe more focussed on the FA cup. I've seen us win the League, the Euorpean cup and the League Cup and would love to add the FA cup to that list.
