He’s looking so sharp right now, every touch and pass just looks crisp and he’s obviously striking the ball well for his goals. Gotta have him the starting 11 on Sunday.

Do not remember a single thing this lad did for Tottenham last year. Not necessarily a bad thing for a centre back but he did not stand out at all, either in a good or bad way. Be interesting to see how he fits in.

He got a bad injury at Watford and then Watford wanted him sent back to villa for rehab. Villa disputed this saying he is loaned for the year so his rehab should happen at Watford. The players union got involved and then I think he did return the Villa in the end. Doesn’t seem like behaviour that would happen for a player we wanted to stay so I guess he will be sold, loaned or cut loose when possible.

I would sell at this point if a good fee is on the table. I was feeling positive about Coutinho at the start of the season but him getting get another niggling muscle injury in the Everton game whilst hardly breaking a jog has really got me down on his chances of ever being consistently available for us. Assuming it goes through quickly I would be confident we could reinvest his fee in someone who could have more impact for us this year.

I just find him lacking in pressing, physicality and basic ball retention so I feel he will never be reliable for us in the premier league, for the level we want to play at. Weirdly I feel like Traore is really good at the ‘difficult’ skills whilst being bad at the ‘simple’ parts of the game. As a wildcard sub though he still has a role to play.

I wouldn’t get hung up on the fee. The fee is ‘cheap’ because there will be a buy back clause and this drives the price down. We obviously value the potential to bring him back in the future more than a couple of £m

Going to be a ECL legend this guy, but in the Prem he is a luxury we can’t afford most games. See also Coutinho.

Looking forward to seeing him play in the league. We know he has baller DNA so will be interested to see if he can hit the same heights as his brother.

Does he get in the team once Moreno is fit? I would say a right back is more pressing unless we plan to place a CB at RB.

I thought he looked excellent on the ball. Like having an extra midfielder to bring the ball out. When he’s up and running it should allow Luiz to player slightly further up the field in possession as he won’t have to come deep the carry the ball for us.

It’s true, Torres-Carlos is ~£60m of combined centre backs. I’d hope they were at least half decent to be honest! Let’s just thank our luck stars that we bought Torres this summer so we are not as desperate as we would have been and, in theory, have the perfect cover for Mings.

Man Utd lost 7-0 to their bitter rivals last year on the way to a third place finish (lol). This is funny but the lesson is that a freak result doesn’t need to be anything more than that, and at least we can understand why it happened with the Mings injury blowing a hole in our plan. Emery will be working on a Mings-less system to make us a success for the next game and Monchi will be deep into his database if more cover is now needed

Crazy to think the team wore T-shirts in support of Emi yesterday and they will likely have to wear T-shirts in support of Mings next week . Just awful luck. The team suddenly looks unsettled and lacking leadership. Ashley Young now a big miss in hindsight.

Awful news. I had Buendía down for a breakthrough season this year where he became a real star in the league. At least he’ll be like a ‘brand new signing’ next season . I hope Ramsey comes back better than ever now . Who starts on the left against Newcastle? Bailey or Coutinho?
