Banks.

I asked for a Direct Debit payment to be charged back as the company concerned took the wrong amount. What's a chargeback the cashier asked? I was then advised to contact the company concerned and ask for the difference to be refunded.

A letter has been sent to the branch manager demanding my account be re-debited under the rules of the Direct Debit Guarantee or the matter will be referred to Bacs.

Bunch of useless rocket polishers the whole lot of them.

"Under the rules of the Direct Debit Scheme, should any money be taken in error, then the customer's bank or building society must, on request, make an immediate refund to the customer's account. This is the Direct Debit Guarantee. This covers situations where the originator has not given the required advance notice regarding a change of amount or date. It also protects customers should an incorrect amount be debited or if a debit occurs earlier than the specified, agreed date, or in error."

Get back in touch with them and tell them you want to make a Direct Debit Indemnity claim. Who ever you spoke to was clueless, or talking out their arse.

Clueless and talking out of their backside. Under the terms you've just quoted they should reimburse me but banks are now even more tight arsed bandits than they used to be. I've asked them to reply by letter once they re-debit my account so we'll see what excuse they come up with not to pay.

The One Show showing a parasitic wasp hatching out of an aphid while I'm eating my dinner.

That's no way to describe Alex Jones. I think she's lovely.

She's great, I prefer her to Christine. What wasn't great was Phil "Tuffers" Tufnell doing a report on Holbein the other night.

She has average looks and zero personality.

And a Welsh accent.

The radio was on at work last night (station was Real radio). A lily Allen song was played and the dj said after "lily Allen there, who by the way has a new album out soon called 'sheezus'...what a strange name for an album, very weird!". He said the same thing after playing her last week. Surely in his profession he would know it's a pun on the Kanye west album? Or at least do some research?

Really shouldn't piss me off but it did!

Alex Jones pisses all over Rachel Riley.

In one of Rob's videos.

That would definitely go in the "things that cheer me up " thread.

Would LOVE to see it

Having to move desks at work, for no other reason than to "freshen things up". I've moved from a nice, quiet desk in the corner, to the middle of the office, where I can't seem to concentrate, for all the inane chatter.

I'd one of those desks before when I was on placement in college, horrible stuff, hope it's not too permanent.

Weren't you already pissed off with the song though? Could be a phantom feeling.
