KjParton
At the end of the day, we just need to win the important games. Thats all we can do. Sunderland, Norwich, Wigan.
P3te
As things stand, assuming we lose tomorrow, it'd be after the 36th game that we'd mathematically be able to get any higher than 17th. That's very worrying

That's very worrying What? I fail to see how that's not as clear as it can be? Basically we're moored in 17th at very best, until there are just 2 games left. Given the absolute best case scenario, under the assumption united beat us Edited April 20, 2013 by P3te

P3te
^ No i'm pretty confused about the statement too. we have 34 points from 33 games. The teams ahead of us have 37 or more. If we lose to united we'll have 34 points after 34 games. If we win our 35th game, we'll have 37 points, but a worse goal difference, even if all the teams on 37 points lose, so we'll still be 17th at best. If we win our 36th game and one of the teams above us who failed to pick up points from their 35th game fails to win, only then can we go above 17th place. And that's using the best case scenario of us beating Sunderland. If we don't beat Sunderland, we can't go above 17th until game 37 at the earliest - and that would only be if we beat Chelsea, which is unlikely. So essentially, if things stand as they are, 17th is the highest we're likely to finish
