Word on the spurs forums is that a deal has been struck and Benteke has been to their training facility to look around already. A lot of fans on their who have made correct predictions before have said that the deals almost done

I am split on this one. On one hand I thank Darren Bent for almost single handedly keeping us in the premier league when HOullier was in charge. Plus arguably his early season goals in the horrid season under Mcleish before he got injured kept us up that year also ................but......... Hasn't it been reported lately that he was willing to sit out his contract at villa because he won't take a pay cut to join another team and also he's not been a favourite of mine since he was seen shopping in Birmingham during the Liverpool game at villa park. Also he's a mercenary aka money grabber. If he was willing to take a pay cut to join another team we would prob accept something like 5 or 6 million but he won't so let him rot in the reserves

Aston villa have slapped a big sticker on Christian Bentekes arse saying 12.5million per cheek. This is getting old now same story over and over again. Why is it dragging on so much obviously Benteke wants out if he's not bothered to sign the double your money contract we offered already he's just another Stewart Downing one good season at villa and wants out hopefully if he leaves his career will go the same was as that greedy word removed

Yeah total bitter sweet season for me. This year been in Australia away from home missing Ireland and Uk villa were my big outlet for stress and stuff but the ended up causing me more stress on top of it all. Horrendous season particularly between November and end of February would have never believed they'd have finished 15th but here we are still in premier league after our worst season ever. That's better news than yesterday's stories bout him going to Liverpool I think he could be a legend here. Him guzan and gabbi are guys this club really need players who absolutely love the club losing any of them would be as big a blow as any. Benteke is a brilliant brilliant player and deserves so much from us fans in the way of gratitude and respect as his goals kept us up this year but I still don't see him in same way as gabbi guzan and weimann he said before he thought villa were in London and that he'd like to play for arsenal some day. If he signs new contract and stays another year he will almost certainly go after the World Cup next summer and that's if he signs a new contract. I'd love him to turn around and say villa is my club now I want up stay here many years but he won't , weimann probably will that's why I would be more devastated to see andi go than benteke

I really hope this wont be another BS summer with players like Benteke and Weimann leaving. I'm so sick of our best players leaving every year. Weimann looks to have real pride in playing for the shirt for us and I thought he could be another Agbonlahor in the making for this club but if he wants to leave after one decent season he's no better than that traitor Downing and I hope he has the same fall from grace Downing had if he leaves but I'm hoping he turns around and proves me wrong and stays I really like Andi Weimann he scores priceless goals for us including that one against Fulham last season that practically saved us. Please stay Andi.

I hope they sort this soon weimann looks like he lives this club every time he plays
