Seriously tho, if we end up with the likes of Stephens & Bowery, then i think it could really be a hard season. Yes, these may well turn into good players, but i think you will agree that at the present moment we are in no position to be experimenting with Premiership unknowns. Just incase you're having trouble undertanding my post, im saying that the transfer window closes at 23:00 BST on Friday, thus when people wake up on Saturday and read the papers or watch Sky Sports News, they will be dissappointed at the quality/amount of signings. Jay Reddington @jdravfc @Frimpong26AFC frimpong got petroved #avfc This guy commented on a pic of Frimpong getting booted in the head by Petrov.... Frimpong then tweeted 'Aston Villa Aston Villa haha'.... Which then started the random speculation..... No, wrong order. Frimpongs 'haha' tweet was what prompted the guy to send him the Petrov tweet. True... but the original pic was before! either way, it was related to the pic - not transfer speculation!!!! villaboyjay Posted August 30, 2012 Share Posted August 30, 2012 I am a bit underwhelmed by our transfer dealings so far, although, there is hope for the future with Bennett, Lowton, Enda Stephens.. It dissapoints me a bit when there are young starlets out there that are within our grasp, but going to lower league clubs: Jordan Rhodes being a prime example of someone , I think, would fit in very well at Villa, however he seems destined to got to Blackburn!! The two players I would love to see and could be tempted, if RL offered a little bit more cash than he would like to? You shouldnt be putting the two new lads in the same bracket as stephens, they are streets ahead of him in terms of quality and experience. I think Lambo is going for the right sort of player. He's looking longer term. Lambo's big test will be keeping us in this division, this season. If he can do that, we'll go from strength to strength. If not, well, we rebuild starting with the good young players he's bought in, and the ones already here.
