Mantis
It appears that the search will extend into Europe this afternoon. In the area of a young, vibrant manager with successful PL playing experience.Wait, we're looking abroad for a manager? But I can't think of a young manager abroad with PL experience? :? Nigel Posted May 17, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted May 17, 2012 I don’t think we will choose a manager without premiership experience. It was Randys main prerequisite last time around and (no matter how disastrous that turned out) I doubt whether this will change.

TrentVilla Posted May 17, 2012 Moderator Share Posted May 17, 2012 It appears that the search will extend into Europe this afternoon. In the area of a young, vibrant manager with successful PL playing experience. So Randy's plane is off to Portugal for a potential visit to AVB? Or Paul Ince is currently visiting Euro Disney and Randy wants a chat? Interesting.... thanks for the info.
villaglint
I for one would be excited by Klinsmann - feels unlikely to me but I do seem to remember a rumour of his being friends with Randy. No idea whether he would be successful or not but he certainly got the Germans playing good football. And they were in a bad place when he took over. Villastine
The following are facts: AVB will definitely not be our next manager. Capello will definitely not be our next manager. Ranieri will definitely not be our next manager. Hiddink will definitely not be our next manager. McCarthy will definitely not be our next manager. BOF Posted May 17, 2012 Moderator Share Posted May 17, 2012 Unlike McLeish KMac is genuinely a nice guy but he's just not cut out for management. I dunno. Sounds to me like they're identical from that. That's not very nice on KMac is it? Let's face it, McLeish was a prick with us. I actually didn't mean it as a slight on McLeish or KMac. All through the speculation, the one thing that kept coming out was what a genuinely nice bloke Eck was. Always had time for people, signing, chatting etc. The subtext being that this was a defence for him not being a very good manager. But it was the constant vibe nonetheless and no journos have come out against him since he left either (which can't be said about Dalglish). So that's why I thought 'a nice bloke not cut out for management' was apt for both Eck & KMac. Though I'd need to see KMac do it once more to be sure in his case. Shillzz
I've no doubt that Randy has jetted off to Europe, so thanks for the info theTrees. But. We had all this kind of thing last year, with people speculating that Randy was off to Sicily to meet Ancelotti, only for Randy to eventually poach Mcleish from all of 2 miles away. Let's not get too excited just yet.
