Sounds like the applause was a success. I agree it wouldn't have been right to stop the game. It couldn't have gone much better and it was a fitting send off to our great captain before he heads off into the biggest battle of his his life. It was emotional but I so hope it is topped by the day we see Stan, leukaemia free, run out on to the Villa Park pitch in our claret and blue shirt once again.
