Complaining about the fixtures is he? Please feel free to withdraw from some competitions Pep.

Maybe they should stop Champions League clubs from entering the Carabao Cup each season. It seems that it’s usually these teams that complain about too many games.

With the financial gulf between clubs in the CL and everyone else getting bigger, it’ll get to the point soon where the same teams are always in contention to win everything every year, if they aren’t already.

That is, until King Unai swoops in and tells them all to **** off.

the competition is screaming out for it, id say all european teams, would mean that every season there would be a new english club in europe

no doubt the sponsors and tv companies don't agree...would be interesting to see if villa agree given our position and what we're trying to do, we would have been the club who lost out last year

Edit - should add villa would be one of the favourites for the cup too which is why we'd be interesting

Not just the sponsors and TV companies who would be annoyed, so would the clubs complaining.

They don't want out of the tournament as it's another trophy they can win. It's not an important one to them but if they haven't won anything else that year or if they can claim a double/treble etc.

What they want is a guaranteed pass through to the quarters/semi's/final.

They want it all and on their terms.

Would we be able to class it as a major honour though if the top six teams aren't in it?

i would

same as if we win the ECL would you be bothered that madrid and bayern arent in it?

id take the papa johns trophy

its strange how we've managed to belittle the cups and reduce their significance whilst at the same time lauding finishing 4th and soon to be 5th, spurs become a huge club whilst not actually winning anything

Guardiola's whinging is incessant and unbearable.  Imagine what it must be like being his poor wife.

Klopp, Mourinho, Ferguson, Wenger, etc. were all the same or worse. All moaners constantly playing the poor us card. Seems to be the standard approach to managing top teams.

£70m opening bid. More money for them to throw at McTominay and Maguire 😂

Where is this going to leave Foden?  Seems he can't get a game under Pep at the minute, we should stick in a cheeky loan bid with an option to buy 😉

Nah Klopp and Pep are worse than them 2 and have already had the rules changed for more subs because of the constant crying. Yet the 2 clearings in the woods rarely make subs

Pep called him something like most talented young player he’d ever coached a few years back, but then he’s never been able to fully hold down a first team place.

He has the money and the trophies already, I’d like to see him move on and be a legend somewhere.

Along with banning journos who write negative stories

Its pure diversion and no one is willing to stick their head above the parapet and go after them

Can you imagine the athletic doing a precise in depth piece on klopp burn out?

Local lad though isn't he, he'll be there long after peps gone

He can't hold down an England spot either, does make me wonder if he has a slight position problem, he's seemingly good across the entire attacking 3 but can't nail a spot

I'd take him on loan.  Imagine him under Emery.

nah he'll be there for life, he's now 23 so lets say 12 more years, averages 45 appearances per year and he's already made 218 appearances....he'd be their record appearance holder

as for paqueta for me its another city signing that on paper they dont really need, they're again buying the finished article who they dont really need to develop who knows the league and slots straight in - only for us all to be told that due to peps genius he'll need a year to come good there - when for £70m they could buy just about any 20 year old midfielder in the world bar bellingham, he's not exciting or adventurous but he'll work there, a lot like kovacic, does nothing to make them more interesting or watchable

In reality it suits everyone, the managers moan and complain and the media get easy headlines and talking points. It's win/win. Its up to the FA/PL to stand up for what's right, ...., good luck with that.
