There’s always been rich clubs winning everything.  The sky 6 have had it all their own way for so long that they have become a little bit too entitled.  There needed to be a power shift, and hopefully now that they start to realise that there’s a table even above their own, maybe, just maybe, they’ll be incentivised to fix the bloody game.

Yes but even at its worst no one has the wealth of newcastles owners. Once they get CL they can cheery pick who they want and its game over for the rest of us

Its already game over for the rest of us...

That middle Eastern lottery ticket is the only chance any of us have got, including spurs by the look of it

Soon the fans will just get fed up and then lose interest in it. Its already happening.

Its like now newcastle talking to moukoko one of the hottest young players in the world and they gonna pay him stupid wages to get him here

Yh my point exactly.

Game needs fixing.  Up until now, no one wanted to fix it.  Now that there’s a shark in goldfish bowl, maybe there’s no option BUT to fix it.

Every club should have the same annual budget for players and wages.  Spend it how you see fit.  Ultimately it’s the fans that pay for spiralling costs of wages and transfer fees.  So get it under control now.  If the annual budget for wages was £50m, it would end the player/agent greed.

There needs to be a limit on squad sizes to stop player hoarding.

But why Newcastle and not man City or Chelsea? It's long gone

The only fair way to me is let be a free for all

If newcastles owners want to put more of their own money in to the club than man utds and Liverpools then so be it, if ours want to put more money in than Arsenal's then that is what it is

Instead Chelsea can spend hundreds every millions every summer because of Nike and trivago and their official cruise ship holiday partner

Newcastle will now go get a SA fictitious main shirt sponsor for £50m a year and people will lose their shit, 5 clubs in the League already have one and no one bat's an eyelid

You’re right of course, but the problem is the Lerner effect.

What happens when a sugar-daddy gets bored of trying to compete?

It leaves a club in a position where it needs bailing out.  When NSWE bought us, there was still a chance of competing.

Now it seems the Arab royalty have decided to have a dick-swinging contest, there’s no hope.  If I read it right, the Qataris are about to join in on the fun by bankrolling **** spurs of all the shitty clubs to choose.

If we just let them have a free for all, the spectacle as we know it is over.  There needs to be a ceiling, but FFP as it stands is a farce, it’s unfair by design.

Set the same budget for every club.  Creative accounting, bullshit sponsors etc should make ZERO difference.

Or we kiss the game goodbye.  There’s about to be 3 whales in the swimming pool.

I don't think so. Newcastle will be a new team competing at the top of the premier league to freshen up the Sky 6. Its ideal. It means the premier league will continue to be by far the most watched league in the world and La Liga and Serie A will continue to decline. The premier league will be the super league soon.

For me personally there is more chance of villa being bought by a middle Eastern royal family than there is of us having a main shirt sponsor that is even half the value of city/Liverpool/chelsea/utd

FFP doesn't work, they will always have a higher revenue than us, Chelsea will always be able to spend more money than us and the gap will get bigger not smaller

The crazy thing is people will moan about doing something Chelsea did 20 years ago then just accepted, then city did 10 years ago and then just accepted, nothing will change

Anyone else think Chelsea are a pointless club nowadays?

Got no identity whatsoever.

They were pointless prior to roman coming in. They only had the success they did because he was the 1st billionaire that came in. Everyone else was playing catch up

You are thinking of the fans that drink in the local pub and have been going to games for 30 years. Mega oil owners don't care much for those.

The new fans now are the ones who buy FIFA ultimate team cards and NFTs. Also the people who like to sit in a hotel in Dubai, drink cocktails, and watch Haaland projected onto Burj khalifa.  That's where the money is.

How many titles did they win in the 90s pre roman then? How many champions league trophies did they win?

Sure. And once he transferred to Newcastle, Man City would blow them out the water.

Dog eats dog. There is always bigger fish.

And as many transfers to PSG have shown, the richest club is not always the best option.

It's not a defence of Newcastle or Man City. But we do to Brentford what Man City do to us. It's just a different scale, but the same sport.

Fair point about brentford but there isnt much difference between us and them. With us and Newcastle city there is massive and the money involved is on a much larger scale

There's a massive difference between us and Brentford in terms of spending power.
