Just finished the shelf reorganisation. 3 Kallax 4x2 units completely rearranged. My back is broken

Anyway because of the possibility of damage I'm on a CD

Les Big Byrd - Eternal Light Brigade

Who the Eff are ABBA.

Trying to get hold of their recent Rarities and Remixes vinyl, but it’s proving quite illusive.

Proper new album along later in the year.

Their vinyl is always quite hard to source in these parts, hence why that is on a CD

I didn’t do it purposely but it turns out every one of them has a link to California, either the artist was born there or the band formed there etc.

Sons of Champlin was Bill Champlin’ s band years before he joined Chicago.

Karla Bonoff is an excellent singer songwriter, Ronstadt covered her songs many times.

Plus there are a couple of Beach Boys related and a tasty Buckcherry lp released on vinyl for the first time.

A Morriconne compilation - Lounge

I think it’s part of a series of five themed double albums on Music on Vinyl, I have three of them

Newly reorganised shelving unit underneath the hifi

Well there's that gap between the amp and the speaker that newly bought albums usually get put in but there is no general A-Z on those shelves. Those shelves contain… On-U Sound then General Dub / Reggae then Jazz then Krautrock then General compilations then Film Scores, then electronic / Ambient then the 10” collection then section 1 of the 12”single collection.

General A-Z starts in another unit behind me and follows on into the third unit behind the sofa, which also contains the rest of the 12”single collection and all my 7” singles. Should more space be needed I can remove the 7” singles because they are in heir own dedicates crates anyway

Edit: There’s also French 60s and 70s section in there

I've recorded music in the same studio that one of the members of Les Big Byrd own. Solid band and Joakim Åhlund is a brilliant musician.

I know Sebastian from Viagra Boys and Konie who used to be in both Viagra Boys and Les Big Byrd is from the town I live in so we have tons of friends in common but I don't really know him. Another friend is really close with Jocke Åhlund so I've hung out with them and partied a bit but again I don't know him. Konie has recorded a album for some friends of mine thou in his studio.

Sebastian seems like a hilarious guy. Gonna try and catch them with The Hives this summer, Viagra Boys are fantastic. Stay lös.

Komeda Quintet - 'Astigmatic'

Krzysztof Komeda composed film music, 'Rosemary's Baby' is probably best known in the West?

This is an SACD issue too.

Here's a different flavor of European jazz.   I wonder if our resident Swedes are familiar with this album.   My dad used to play it in the car on 8-track tape when I was a kid.

Yeah he's super nice, great guy. Sadly I don't see him much these days what with all their touring and with the friend I got to know him through having moved to Åre. Last time I saw him was when they played in Karlstad a while back. Used to have a tattoo of his, the word Bacon on the sole of my foot made at an afterparty maybe 9 years ago :D It faded away due to wear.

Another compilation, another country in another era. This time Belgium in 1986

Crepescule Collection Volume 2. A compilation of artists on the Disques du Crepescule label who had a hook up with Factory Records prior to Factory Benelux. One of the founders of both labels was Annik Honare otherwise famous for being Ian Curtis' other woman.
