Did anyone catch me on TV? It's the only positive from a bad night, well that and my first pre match angus pie.

Yeah I did mate, and thought why the hell is someone wearing a Jets top at that game  Didn't think of you as presumed you were in Madrid.

Hope you are alright with regards to your cuts and bruises.

So was there a load of punch ups right outside the ground or was it once everyone dispersed into the city centre? Did you see a lot of it or just when you got targeted?

----------

This sort of thing never happens at our place because we aren't right in the city centre and we haven't had matches in the evening. Last time we did, it did kick off.

I figured it would be a bad move to wear any Villa colors so thought I'd rock out my Chad Pennington Jets jersey.

I saw the one punch up at the bar on the way towards the Digbeth road, don't know the name. That looked insane...dozens of people fighting.

The one where the chavs came at me was walking just past digbeth on that side of the road. Spilled out of the bar asking me whats the score...then I got jumped.

The police were worthless. Why not have 50 coaches loaded with Villa Fans leave from Villa Park at 630ish? Then they could be escorted back, etc. The area around Digbeth has always seemed shady, but damn! It got really ugly.

I agree with whoever made the "theyre out looking for trouble at 5am but then complain about how the foreigners have come and taken all their jobs." Thats so true, but another debate for another day about those lowlives.

The chavs, not the foreigners.

It can't be beyond the wit of man to devise a way to get fans in and out of a ground without trouble??

The police are always useless in these events. There are maybe 20 games a year - derbies etc. - across the country that generate this sort of behaviour and atmosphere and I wouldn't have thought it impossible to have a special team set up to deal with these events that travels around the country when appropriate, even if they are supplemented by local police. This would ensure consistency and best practice and better planning. Probably too sensible for our forces to consider! And I would have thought the PL/FA would be able to fund this.

It really is about time that clubs that have this sort of following/behaviour - Scum, Milwall, Cardiff, Leeds and a few others - took responsibility and sorted it out.

A league cup quarter final, that's a big local derby, between the Villa and the scum, on a Wednesday, in December, at night time, no of course there won't be any violence.

Direct quote from the fixtures committee of the FA.

Flare 100% from our end first as i saw it lit up and thrown five rows in front..

At final whistle got pelted with coins from noses above and chairs thrown from both sets of fans. Couple of our fans in wheelchairs in front of me were sat helplessly amongst the hostile mayhem..

The noses fans who were spitting over the upper tier... Fecking animals!!

Waiting by the away entrance/exit various objects exchanged over small matal fence by both fans.... pallets, signs even the odd snowball

the main issue here is why when its at the sty there is pitch invasions? it happened with enkleman incident, it happened when they went down and abused the porno dwarf and then it happened last night. the book needs to be thrown at them for allowing this to happen.

it all started because those miserable fucktards couldnt just accept the win the had to go on the pitch to cause a riot. we have beaten them 6 on the trot and did you once see us do that to them? shows how much class we have barring a miniority of small idiots who should be banned

They have a history of it.

But the football authorities have a history of being spineless words removed

Half time seems to have been overlooked in all of this. The metallic shutters that kept blues villa apart some how after a good ten minutes of kicking in became open and the Blues were through, only for them to shut again almost instantly, to then open again with a bucket load of riot police.

After most of what I saw has been covered already.

As we left the the 200 yard police line at the away end it was just full of well known Zulu faces (you dont have to be a hooligan to know main player names) they were pushing Villa back, punching a few on there way, calling out for Fowler (who as far as Im aware has been on a banning order for a while and wasnt there) but what I coudnt understand that those of us who were at the front wasnt our firm, they were normal fans, but they became a front line so to speak and the Zulus just didnt care knocking a few to the ground. So much for only targeting like minded people hey?

What made matter worse was that the young Villa firm saw this and started pushing forward from the back meaning those like me were being pushed back into the front line for even more punches to be thrown our way. Eventually riot police decided to arrive and batton charged them down all the way to the island. After eventually clearing the route the police marched us down there. But then seemimgly thought that after the island no police was needed. MOst Villa fans had to head back into town which meant walking past The Clements pub which suprise supirse had a load of them waiting for us. At least this lot didnt attack normal fans from what I saw, they soon got what they were looking for from Villa who I guess you would have to say took advantage and even began to attack the pub too.

At this point a load more riot vans arrived from town and moved Villa on through Digbeth High Street where quite clearly to all of us we could see all the pubs on the road had yet more Blues outside waiting for us to pass

Police had numbers yes, but I think there problem is thay are all drafted in so just dont know the area. Having been to all but one of the away games since 2002 I reckon I could quite easilly tell you all the noses tactics, where they attack from and what pubs. God even my dad who I was with last night who hasnt been to Blues away since the 80s knew exactly which were there main pubs and just couldnt believe it when they were leaving us on our own to walk past The Clements.

I some times get the the impression the police want this to happen in the hope they get some good footage for afterwards to prosecute.

After we raced past Clements we crossed the street to be on the left side of the road walking into town. We wanted to get as far away from the trouble as possible. That was a mistake when the chavs spilled out of the bar looking for trouble. I'm still pissed off about getting sucker punched by a bunch of chavs last night. And the Police Helicopters were a damn joke. If we would have won, I probably would be in the hospital right now.

Not of this surprises me. Ive been to the last 2 league matches there and both times the police marched us down the hill to mcdonalds and then vanished. Its like feeding time at the zoo!

Even if you're not wearing any colours then its clear who you support as you're leaving the ground half an hour after the blues fans.

I would of been ther elast night if it wasn't for just having a daughter born, feel sorry for the ones that went, but unfortunately it was goign to happen whether we won or lost. Thats just how they are. Saw a lot of their firm at villa park this season as well.

5live has just reported that there have been 5 arrests. thats what i call quality policing.

It was reported on one newspaper website that there had been 9 arrests last night....I heard that and laughed.

All the police want to do nowadays is catch everything on film, then print the pictures in the Evening Mail for people say who they are then do some dawn raids.

W-M-P **** useless.

Presumably they expect us defend ourselves when confronted with a mob of knuckledraggers then? Hardly going to deter hooliganism is it.

Just got back myself, I now have a nice 3 or 4 stitches just above my right eyebrow, and our away fans are a **** disgrace, an old lady got injured as well, yes the City fans started it, but the thugs that claim they're Villa 'fans' were the ones with the flares, a great cup tie ruin by mindless shits.

I don't understand why some villa thought it would be a good idea to lob seats from the back of the away end, all they're going to do is hit other Villa! It was just **** stupid, if you really want to throw seast at words removed on the pitch then at least go close enough to them.

Methinks you are missing the point. If people want to go to a sporting event and throw the fixed-down seating at the opposing team's supporters, there is a problem.

I'm not going to differentiate between Villa and Blues here. That behaviour is uncalled for. It's only a **** football match. I wish the tribal inbred words removed, both Blues AND Villa would just **** off and leave this sport alone.

Any Villa fans that intentionally got involved last night are dog raping spastics.

Nice to see your Brigada ultras sig under a post advocating violence as well!

They concentrate on the ring leaders.

Seems to me that they purpously allow the trouble, so they can get the evidence to nail the head boys.

Problem is, trouble breeds trouble, and innocents are forced to take action to defend themselves, and the spiral continues.

Also, its pretty useless taking out a few scum inbreds, since there are so many of them, and the majority of thier support sympathise with them. Its all part of the make up of the club, i.e Millwall.

Banning orders dont work.

You simply meet just outside the 3 mile exclusion, at a time when you dont sign on at the local nick.

We were stuck on the coaches in the carpark whilst you were being attacked in Digbeth. You will be glad to hear, some Old Bill around us were snowball fighting!!!!

I kid you not
