General Krulak pt 4 - Q & A (No transfer Questions)

I thought we played well tonight General, unfortunately the way we are set up in the attacking third means we lack a decent goal threat and our defensive centre pairing are on par with the worst in the Premiership. I pray that GH can see this, and if he can't, it's up the BOARD to take action.

General.

I hope disciplinary action is on the clubs agenda after a shite performance AGAIN by our defence

They deserve to be fined a weeks wages they did not do their job in the real world if you dont do your job you pay the consequences because of these overpaid gutless numpties the fans now have to go to work tomorrow with their heads hung in shame with the exception of the attacking third who created plenty of chances and were worthy of wearing the villa shirt especially the youngsters i hope you pass these remarks onto Richard Dunne the current club captain who shows no leadership qualities whatsoever we are quite frankly a shambles and a laughing stock at the back.

I ask you this for how long are our youngsters going to carry us through matches because they look like the only players within the squad who have a hunger and apetite for the game the senior players are a disgrace its time for them to step up to the plate and deliver for the good of the club who are currently paying their wages.

General, do something to sort this out. I don't care what, but something needs to change and quick else we will be in a relegation fight with young, inexperienced players who won't be able to get us out.

I'm finding it so hard to find anything to be positive right now. The dream is over, and a dream it only ever was.

General Sir,

Unlike many others, I don't blame GH for what is going on on the pitch at the minute. Again tonight, we have dominated a game only not to add the most important stat of all (Goals). What I find an absolute piss take is that our senior players seem to not have the heart or pride to play for our great club. In the last few games, our young lads who have hardly any experience are showing more heart, pride and composure in playing for this great club and are on a fraction of what some our top players are earning. I know that you don't like to get involved with the team matters BUT surely a good speech is needed from you representing the board to these senior players in what it means to pull on our famous Claret and Blue.

It is becoming a little pathetic to see these players giving half hearted attempts to play the game.

UTV!!!

General,

Theres no excuses for GH now, this was a joke and so is he. Making 2 subs on 90mins was never going to help us, anyone else would have brought on someone on 84mins right after the second joke of a goal.. just one of GH's many mistakes this season.

Heres my question though, with your obvious incoming excuse of injuries injuries and more injuries please can you tell us what changes have been made at Bodymoor heath during training? 90% of these problematic injuries have been during training thus causing us problems.

Just my 2p's worth but GH should be let go straight away - we cant afford to get dragged into a relegation battle, and Im sure RL cant afford it either.

Our players aren't the problem. It's the tactics. I'm still holding out hope and faith Gerard will get it right. He hasn't had long to do what he wants to do.

Anyway the reason I came on here was to talk about the stupidity of whoever decided it was best to keep the Villa fans in the stadium after the end of the match... It was clear that their fans would run on the pitch if they won and it was just asking for trouble. How can you not expect anything to happen? I can guarantee that if we were allowed to leave that malarky would not have happened except maybe one or two idiots which you find everywhere. There were thousands of their fans just stood in front of the Villa fans shouting and taunting and throwing flares.

It was a nightmare last time they kept us Villa fans in and surprise surprise it hasn't worked again.

I can only think that Mr Blobby was in charge of the safety of the fans tonight and no doubt Villa will be fined and punished and our reputation will be in pieces.

Will Villa be expressing their disgust at the treatment of our fans once again?

Cheers General

General while it's nice to be able to go into the holte pub and pay ridiculous money for crap food it would also be nice to enjoy watching my team again so please try and get some money spent in the summer.

Whatever happened in the summer has really set us back and the board must take responsibity for that

Hi General, keep the faith, We've got the middle part right, the controlling games but we need some work in both boxes, money has to be spent for this club to make itself a top 6 club again. If so, I do think Houllier can be the right man.

What did you make of the game? I thought we were pretty unlucky.

Hi General, gutted about the result. Thought we were the better side but hey that's football.

Anyway I was wondering, if possible, could you give the team a rousing speech before the Liverpool game on Monday? This is backs against the wall stuff and we need to get a result.

When are we going to say enough is enough and cut our losses with Houllier?

The defence is a shambles and we play one up front so never have much of a goal threat. 2 wins in 11 matches now (one of them against a B team). So much for a new manager improving the team - he's made them worse!

This is the first season in close to 20 years where I haven't felt the need to go to a game. Why? Boring unconvincing manager, negative 1 up front tactics (so much for appointing a manager who will excite) and lack of investment by the board (continual investment not invest for 3 years and then shut up shop).

Sell our best player and don't reinvest the money, appoint a manager who is doing appalling and charge us full price for a kit that we can't even have for a large part of the season. Shocking Villa - the honeymoon is well and truly over!

General, picking up on another point if you have to give a rallying call then the manager should walk out, is that not his job to get the best out of his squad.

When randy came in I thought the scum would never catch us again, I really didn't expect such a short period. Really at the moment on the pitch where it counts randy hasn't helped us do anything the last owner disk't manage. I think randy is fortunate he took over from such a hated bloke.

On a bad night for a number of reasons I was really disappointed to see Bannan taken off. He always wanted the ball and was playing with guts a passion. You could see he was devastated and shocked to be taken off (especially as Ireland did his usual non existent performance). I really hope wee Barry doesn't let this knock his confidence.

God only knows what GH has done to our defenders who were superb last season. With the inevitable 'long ball' finale as SHA try and protect the lead we leave Carew on the bench. Madness. :-(

I'm really starting to wonder if Mr Houllier is what we're after at Villa. This is the lowest point as a Villa fan for a number of years.

EDIT: Seems Bannan was injured which surprises me why he was so upset to be taken off.

General,

Please ensure that Blues are fully blamed for allowing their funs to run a full length of the pitch to goade the away fans, and I'd also point out the Adebayor incident with Arsenal, when Arsenal fans were caught for throwing missiles in reaction but did they receive a punishment, NO as Adebayor was held accountable. The Police spent most of their time on Villa fans when as proven before Birmingham have more thugs, I'm pretty sure they'll be a cover up by the Birmingham Mail on this which will try and paint Birmingham in a good light.

General,

How badly do Collins or Dunne have to play to be replaced by Cuellar?

I was at the match last night. My first and certainly last visit to St. Andrews. What can be done in the future to ensure the fans' security?

After the 200 yard police escort to McDonalds many fans, myself included, were jumped by Birmingham City fans. It was a complete joke. Police helicopters above doing absolutely positively 0.

This would NEVER happen at an American sporting event. You get the drunken morons, just like last night, but the policing is 1000000x better. It's embarassing, as I'm new to England and this was my first experience sitting in the Away End. Why should I go again?

General Krulak here:

2. markavfc40: So let's agree to disagree. I think that GH has done a remarkable job under the circumstances he found himself in. Rather than shoot on his target, it might behoove you to think about what he is trying to achieve here...to include establishing an effective scouting system, putting in a different strategy of play on the ptich, dealing with a significant number of injuries, taking over after the season started, etc. etc. If you think he is no good, so be it. We can just disagree on that point.

You really think he as done a remarkable job? two wins in ten in the league one against Blackpools reserve side one against a side that finds itself in relegation mire both by a single goal. Out of the league cup against very poor Sha side. Remarkable job eh. You also mention injuries. General I have followed Villa for over 30 years and you know what you do get injuries. We have had more than our fair share during the last few months but I can honestly say in every game under Houllier we have not been missing anymore than 3 or 4 players who would have started and quite often only two. He is also the manger and it is the managers job to adapt to the circumstances he is faced with and use the squad in such a way as to get results. He as failed at that.

Our defence as been pretty much our first choice over the last few months. The same defence that for much of last season was one of the best in the league and one which contributed heavily to us having our best ever Prem season in terms of points and helped us to our first final in a decade. Suddenly these players can't defend, are fannying about, being indecisive instead of getting the basics right and going with the old adage of if in doubt f**k it out. Not pretty but boy is it effective.

You also mention him adapting a different style of play? why? like you say he came in after the season had started. You don't try and change a style of play then. You do so in the 6 weeks of pre season using friendly games to experiment when results don't matter. For now he needs to concentrate on playing to the lads at his disposal strengths. They aren't bad players you know when used right as last season showed.

The above is all very much irrelevant though isn't it. We can agree to differ on many of the issues but the bottom line is results and quite simply we are failing miserably. If for no other reason than that one alone it means that Houllier is doing far from a remarkable job.

Kind Regards

Mark
