dudevillaisnice
He is back now.. though according to one fan : Nathan Delfouneso was a huge failure at Burnley. He did nothing to suggest he will succeed at AVFC . Will keep an eye on his progress.
theunderstudy
**** em. They keep playing Chris Eagles who is even more selfish than Ash.
BOF Posted May 4, 2011 Moderator Share Posted May 4, 2011 **** em. They keep playing Chris Eagles who is even more selfish than Ash. Eagles with 11 league goals from midfield (the same as Iwelumo & 2 behind Rodriguez) and god knows how many assists made for Iwelumo & Rodriguez in the process? Eagles is probably their best player. Shoody
Make or break for him next year and I'm not convinced.
theunderstudy
He is such a selfish player! Ashley Young has how many goals, and yet we could have had a whole lot more if he fecking passed it instead of spooning it wide/over the bar/straight at the keeper. Not saying either are terrible players for their respective clubs, but whilst Delfouneso has not been great at all there, I doubt he has had the kind of service he wants. fran_villa
I guess he's another one that thinks he's made it already. He has lots of talent from what i have seen but his attitude seems to be poor.
BOF Posted May 4, 2011 Moderator Share Posted May 4, 2011 Well it seems like he's been around forever and he'll still only be 20 going into next season. Next season needs to be his proper breakout year wrt regular Prem appearances. A spell on Burnley's bench might have been a wake up call.
Rob182
I hope we see a few appearances from him next season in the first team. Though he hasn't been amazing whenever he'd played for us, he clearly has an eye for goal and talent on the ball. I remember in our 6-0 (or whatever the result was) loss to Chelsea last season, he had a mazy run around a few players only to hit the post/ crossbar/ force a good save from Cech. sir_gary_cahill
all he needs is a run of games in our team and the football club will benefit
TrentVilla Posted May 4, 2011 Moderator Share Posted May 4, 2011 I've seen a few good moments from him but nothing to make me think he is anything special or better than the likes of the Moore brothers. I hope to be proven wrong but so far I remain unconvinced by him.
Brumstopdogs
A very unconvincing spell at Burnley by the sound of things. He's got a lot to do and I'd be surprised if he makes the grade.
beasley14
We could do with him being loaned to Norwich or someone like that where he is likely to start a lot more games than he will here. Will teach him about working hard for the team too as they specialise in that.
Shoody
Wouldn't mind giving him a run of games playing behind Bent at the start of next season tbh. A standard 4-4-2 just doesnt make the grade, if his vision for a pass is up to scratch I'd play him just behind Bent and see if he is any good at opening the defence with his skills or whether its all looks and no end product as he clearly can't do it out wide. That or we loan him out somewhere he's going to get games. Wolves, Wigan and Norwich are all good shouts imo.
SemperFi
Is he actually good or has he just been overhyped like Luke "The next henry" Moore?
Shoody
Dont think we really know yet, he has potential but seems unable to fulfill it. Obviously won't be worldclass like some of the more *ahem* optimistic of us had hoped but could still make it in the prem if he pulls his finger out. jim
Is he actually good or has he just been overhyped like Luke "The next henry" Moore? The latter from what I have seen and a friend of mine up north reckons he has been Gash for them.
Rob182
Is he actually good or has he just been overhyped like Luke "The next henry" Moore? He's shown glimpses, but he's been talked up A LOT. MON was meant to really rate him. But then when MON left and KMac took over, he played Wiemann instead - it was said that Delfouneso thought very highly of himself. He's got more natural footballing ability than Gabby, has a good burst of acceleration to get himself past a man - but his downfall could be his attitude. I really hope he lives up to his hype, it'd be nice to have a ready-made Carew replacement in our ranks!
