Benzema > Higuain

He was pants this year because (it appears) he didn't settle in the country, which is often underestimated.

But if he finds himself in the right environment he will be a brilliant striker, i remember watching him for Lyon and he can literally score from anywhere.

He reminds me of Torres, when the spanish press said about him that he never scores the same goal twice, Benzema is pretty much the same.

I like Higuain, he puts the ball in the net, but he doesn't contribute enough to the team. However at Madrid when you have Kaka, Ronaldo, Di Maria and Alonso behind you creating and scoring goals, you don't really need to do much else but put the ball in the net.

Edit: And another problem is that Benzema likes to drop deep to get the ball, similar to Raul. And with Kaka playing in that position there are too many numbers in the same area which leads to play breaking down. This is why Madrid prefered Higuain up front because he leads the line (usually, although he can float about) and it allowed a fit Kaka to roam behind the striker, or Raul do play off him.

Wasn't Raul bullying or intimidating Benzema too? Raul is king of that castle and if he doesn't take to you he can make your life very difficult.

Aye, Benzema said he was frustrated playing with Raul because he isn't mobile enough leading them to run into eachother, because as i said they occupy the same positions. Madrid didn't like this, well Raul didn't like this and Benzema soon found himself out of the team.

Good news however is Mourinho dispatched of Raul, there is only one king of that castle now.

SGC that is a ridiculous claim. you may think he has a poor touch and technical ability but you yourself said it goals that matter. Higuain got 27 goals in 32 games last season, you cant argue with that record.

He is an average striker, he is nowhere near as good as Bent, in terms of goalscoring or general play, stick Higuain in Sunderland's team and he would struggle to get 10 goals per season.

So if you play Bent in Real in place of Higuain, he'd score more than 27 goals in 32 games?

How can you argue about one guy saying "He does the most important thing, puts the ball in the net"

yet when someone else does it, it's not good enough!?

Just because he's at Sunderland doesn't mean he'd get more goals at United. Football doesn't work that way. :?

Just like players sometimes don't bring records at Club level to International. There is more pressure, you also aren't the main man. At Sunderland, he's the one on the end of most of the chances. Bigger teams, the chances are usually falling too most attacking players as because opponents sit back and also are more concentrated when playing a better team then you need varied ways of attacking and not just through the same man everytime.

Bent in my opinion would struggle for past 12-13 goals per season for Man United because he simply isn't good enough.

Benzema wasnt taking training seriously and Raul as team captain pulled him up as any captain would

Raul might stay and will be great if he does. Real Madrid isnt same without him

quite comfortably imo, I think a lot of strikers would considering they have Ronaldo and Kaka supplying them, Bent is a better finisher and all round player than Higuain, no question

As you pointed out, Bent does it at Sunderland with the likes of Andy Reid supplying him and Higuain does it with Ronaldo and Kaka providing the ammunition.

Yes, it does work like that because he is a natural goalscorer and would score goals in any team in world football

hahahahah.... cant believe there's now a debate of whether Bent is better then Higuain.

Bent wouldnt play good for any top club cos he'd just totally bottle it.

There's a reason he plays for Sunderland.

It amazes me how you cant see that SGC and yet even more so how much you rate him.

Good goalscorer? Yeah, of course.

Brilliant footballer? - No.

The level he is at is perfect for him, he's the main man at Sunderland, they're a club with no pressure to do anything, there's no expectation. If he played for a big club, he'd just crumble and get "homesick" no doubt.

That is exactly why no decent manager as ever really rated him enough to take him to a top club.
