GarethRDR
But...But...I wanted us to magically sign Coentrao Same here. I even tried offering my soul to the devil in exchange, but all he would swing me was Ben Thatcher and some chewing gum.

Mr_Dogg
does that say 30m euros or is that me? if so  Looks like Bayern offered 18, his release clause is 30 and Benfica want 25.
Jas
17 year old Brazilian striker Lucas Piazón will move from São Paulo to Chelsea at the end of the season for £6.5m. Apparently he's "the new Kaka". Apparently. :? Is that because he has the same haircut?

BOF Posted March 30, 2011 Moderator Share Posted March 30, 2011 Coentrao wouldn't replace Robben or Ribery like for like. He might be able to play as a winger, but those 2 aren't even typical wingers. They're winger-cum-strikers (teehee).
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Bayern just bought Luis Gustavo and he's been playing left back, Coentrao was basically a winger throughout the World Cup. New managers influence I imagine, Robben/Ribery might be sold as they are injury prone and on mega £££££££.
Zatman
but Gustavo is a centre half or defensive midfielder and is just there as Pranjic is not very good

They do most of their damage cutting inside like a wide striker. Everybody is doing it at the moment, even England!

We've got an old school Marc Albrighton! It is the usual at the moment though, mainly because managers these days prefer fit, quick, attacking full backs, the space needs to be created for them, so it makes sense for wingers to play opposite sides. From what I've seen, Contreao, is your modern day full back.

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Bayern will need to get a few more defenders in if they intend on getting Coentrao in to play left back, Robben/Ribery don't track back and Mario Gomez is very much a useless lump that seems to get goals, Coentrao is suspect defensively. Lahm/Badstuber are the only defenders in that team!
VillaAlex
I'd imagine they'll get Neuer behind them this summer and then sign someone from abroad. Why they ever let Hummels go I don't know...
