Didn't O'Neill go down with both Boro and Pompey? I'm sure he did, here is to hoping he completes the hat-trick.

You can't have Sidwell but here's O'Neil. Very odd. I suppose at the time they were in for Sidwell, Grant was a dead man walking. And now his job is 'safe', Sid is gone elsewhere. O'Neil is a decent player. One of those I always thought was one of the better players in the relegated sides. But if it keeps happening to him then it can't be a co-incidence. I can't see that he's better than Parker or Noble. I still think they've enough to escape anyway.

but im sure O'Neil isnt going to be on half the wages Sidwell wanted. He played a bit on right for Pompey so he could play there for them

No doubt you're right re- the wages. It was still a timing thing re- Sidwell though. They weren't going to back a manager they thought they'd be firing less than a week later. But now they have to back him because they've committed to him.

Dieumerci Mbokani off to VfL Wolfsburg until the end of the season; loan with option to buy. If he doesn't pick up where Džeko left off (or if Grafite stops scoring at all) they could be sucked down into some real trouble.

why?

A few years back we played Chelsea in the FA Youth cup semifinal, the second leg of which was at Villa Park.

Kakuta brought one of the most petulant displays I've ever seen, punctuated with a lot of gamesmanship, one of those displays that genuinely makes you hate a player.

He then raised that to a boiling point with me and a number of other people in the sizeable crowd for a youth game, probably the biggest crowd he'd seen in his time in England and something he should have been quietly grateful for at that time. Chelsea won the game, and the tie, and reached the final. Kakuta and a friend of his decided the best way to celebrate this would be to run directly to the Villa fans, who were on the opposite side of the stadium to the few travelling fans, and take the piss. Time and again he and his friend would run upto the crowd, waving their shirts and inciting that entire corner of the Trinity and the entirety of the Holte, and then scuttle away laughing at the reaction. Eventually people started throwing rather a lot of stuff at the words removed, to which they then decided they should carry on their piss taking but stay a bit further back so they were in no danger.

I hate him. That marked him down in my books as a egotistical tosser with little to be arrogant about at that time, the worst kind of oxygen stealing clearing in the woods, and since then I've wished him a career ender sooner than later.

I don't say that easily, but since that night I've really hated the word removed. Genuine loathsome hatred.

We should be glad of it, too. Doesn't look like he can make the step up from the Belgian leagues at this rate, hence Monaco being happy to get rid even during a relegation scrap.
