Friend from Orkney, Padraig (Porrick).

Someone told me Eoin and John are the same name in different dialects.

Look at the various European languages - Ian, Jan, John, Jean, Iohannes, Johann, Ivan... all the same name.

Seán too moon man. ;)

Yep, Good point.

No they're not, they're all different, if they were the same it'd be Ian, Ian, Ian, Ian, Ian, Ian, Ian...

Any more unusual spelling and pronunciations of names because this is quite the thrill?

Did I ever post about the fellow I used to know whose name was Henry, only to give you an idea of how much of an individualist he was, he spelled it Hen3ry (the three was silent, you see).

I leave the seeds and the very very centre of the core. But I eat all the rest.

I always get annoyed when people leave something like this

apple_core.jpg

after they've eaten an apple

You've left HALF the good stuff there!!!

I leave more than that. I don't like food you have to mess around with - fruit, seafood in shells, nuts in shells, etc.

Why bother?

It's like taking a bite out of a sandwich and then claiming you're finished.

And I'm not sure what messing there is with an apple.

Step 1. Pick Up

Step 2. Eat

I eat apples whole.

Obviously I don't eat the stalk. I twist that whilst reciting the alphabet, to find out who I love.

But yeah, seeds and all I mange it all.

You'll regret that when an apple tree grows inside your stomach and splits you in two.

Well...I do wake up with wood every morning.

I actually believed that tree in the stomach thing when I was a kid.

I distinctly remember accidentally swallowing an apple seed and the erupting into floods of hysterical tears because I thought a tree would grow inside me.
