zab6359
It would be nice if the result of this match was meaningless guess we’ll have to wait until later today to know that. Would be good to reach 70 points and Ollie break 20 PL goals in a season though!
tinker Posted May 14 VT Supporter Share Posted May 14 Nailing my flag to mast here, we will beat Palace. Nearly a weeks rest after that brilliant Liverpool come back. Yea Palace are in form but we're top 4. 3-1 to villa, Ollie with a brace UTV
Bosnichs Muller corner
Avoid defeat and hopefully Watkins gets that elusive 20th goal of the season
blunther
Feels like it's our longest rest for ages, and hopefully a player or two comes back to give us more legs. One last push lads.

BOF Posted May 14 Moderator Share Posted May 14 This has been a fairly special season for many reasons. Let's finish it off in style. Hopefully by tonight (Tuesday) Man City will have sealed our place in the Champions League. If not, then we have a job to do. On a related note, after last night's 3 goals, this is now our 5th most prolific season in our history. 4th in the top flight (74/75 was tier 2). A couple of goals against Palace and we'll match the '74/75 effort.

That's the amount of goalscorers that season who were brand new Villa goalscorers (i.e hadn't scored for us before that season). This season's 'new' scorers were Diaby, Duran, Kamara, Torres, Tielemans, Carlos, Moreno, Zaniolo, Dendoncker & Rogers. Even that number (10) is almost a club record. Only the 2017/18 season was higher, with 11 new goalscorers.
WakefieldVillan
If Spurs win tonight (God forbid) Team 1: Martinez Konsa Carlos Torres Digne Bailey Tielemans Luiz McGinn Diaby Watkins Cash, Moreno, Rogers, Zaniolo hopefully all available for some minutes If ECL is done and dusted; Team 2: Gauci KKH Konsa Lenglet Moreno Diaby Chambers Tim Rogers Watkins Duran LITTLE EMI ON THE BENCH! But save him for next season.. If the game doesn't matter in context of top 4 then I just hope Ollie hits the 20 goal mark, feel like it was playing on his mind last night. stewiek2
I know they are in great form, but to put things in perspective- Crystal Palace - 15th in home table Villa - 4th in away table
maqroll
My first wish is that this game is meaningless. Second wish is that Ollie bags his 20th goal early and gets subbed off. Third wish is that Gauci plays at least one half. Fourth wish is that all the other kids start. Fifth wish is for a win!

It's a different team.

Maybe a chance for Kellyman ?! Probaby pointless picking a team until after tonight anyway.

fruitvilla
I wonder which strategy we should go for: Strongest team to beat Palace and get 71 points Set up the team for Ollie to get a hat-trick Give the second team a run OK 1 and 2 are not necessarily mutually exclusive
troon_villan
Play Ollie Watkins in nets for a laugh and Emery's son up front. Don't care about it. Job is done!!
