  1. Be interesting to see if he retains his place for Wednesday, Digne seems more effective all round at the moment, thought he was dynamic when he came on. Unless we try both of them together on Wednesday
  2. What an opportunity for Duran to hit the big time if Watkins is rested. Feeling a bit more confident with Diaby and Zaniola finding some form too
  3. Just want to say fair play to Chambers for that second half performance. Probably thought he'd be gone before he played for us again but put a great effort in to his performance.
  4. Painful as always against Man U but plenty to give heart today compared to recent defeats. Encouraged by Ramsey's and Moreno's performances today and I like seeing McGinn involved high up the pitch during the middle part of the game. Some positives for me to take into the next few matches. Tactically we mixed it up a bit better today with neat interchange and constructive longer balls. Lacking something at the back, maybe just organisation - frustrating to concede from a corner again. I think Cash actually played quite well in an attacking sense and didn't do a whole lot wrong apart from the challenge for the winning goal.
  5. If we use Duran as an example, am I correct in my thinking that if we bought him for 15m on a 5 year deal then that's amortized to 3m per year on the books (plus wages obv). If we sell now for 15m we pocket it all for this year's finances - 12m (minus wages paid to date)?
  6. Not great but plenty of positives in the second half. I thought Tielemens and Cash were bright at times, more to come from them in the next few games I think. I probably would have given Bailey a bit longer but I'm sure Emery has his reasons. Saved for Tuesday maybe
  7. We really struggled for an hour but a lot of overreaction on here. Old Trafford is never going to be a walk over and United's press in the second half beat us. Yes, a few of the players were sloppy today and 2 of the goals came from bad mistakes. Don't think it's fair to criticise players like McGinn and Watkins today, they lost the battle today. Yes we missed Kamara and missed Torres, personally not sure Carlos is a starter for me
  8. Agree with some other comments in that we missed Tielemens and McGinn further forward. Just not much room for Bailey or Diaby. In hindsight maybe Dendonker instead could have left McGinn a bit more freedom. Even that said, I though McGinn was the best player overall
  9. An early goal to settle any nerves, a second around half time then start resting one or two players from the hour mark
  10. Thought McGinn was excellent again today. His energy level even at the end of the match so impressive. Not a slick performance today but fought to restrict Arsenal to very few clear chances. Credit to the referee on making his own decisions and not relying on VAR
  11. Incredible. Every player and coach spot on. Konsa right back was brilliant. All of the midfield priceless tonight. Tielemens getting better and better. The confidence to play against the champions. I've never seen it before. Superb
  12. Rancid performance, so casual on the ball again. No fight until the last 20 minutes and the 'midfield' in the first half - atrocious
  13. Felt like a Gerrard led team performance. Hopefully the next match doesn't. I didn't expect Howe to win the tactical battle with Unai, perhaps he's a better coach than I thought. Lots of hard work to do this week
  14. Having the lion in gold is an improvement for me and would pop better on this year's shirt. Also am I the only one who thinks it looks like the lion is getting pissed off trying to swat away a bee?
  15. Lazio being held at Poundland because of the work needed for the Holte End hospitality work is what I read elsewhere
  16. It's been incredible loans for Archer and Ramsey. I can't recall any quite so successful. Be interesting to see what Unai makes of it next season considering we are forecast to spend big
  17. Scrappy game, very turgid in the middle but again we found a way. Another week, different challenge, another win. Gave motm to Mings because I thought he bossed anything aerial from Forest but surprised how little they offered in 2nd half
  18. I know it's only one shot but does Bertie deserve more game time over say Bailey? Or does Unai trust Bailey to deliver his instructions; I thought Ash probably needed more help especially in the first half
  19. Good to see Hannah Hampton back in the England squad, she's looked confident and secure in goal from what I've seen over the last few games
  20. Yes taking the kids, find it's a bit more family friendly than the men's matches. Saw the Man City home game at the start of the season so hoping for as much entertainment again
  21. They're just getting better and better month by month. Great team spirit has been built since Carla took over
  22. I believe in Unai to do something tactically that West Ham don't expect to mitigate the loss of Kamara and have us leading at half time
  23. Bit gutted when this does get finalised, don't think he has ever really done anything wrong and has scored and assisted some great goals when he has had his chances. Just hope the replacement is an exciting one to soften the blow of losing a good goalscorer
  24. Does the club realise how emotionally challenging it is trying to convince my 6 year old son that Villa is the club to support!
  25. Gave Mings motm, didn't do much wrong and great assist. Bailey is really frustrating, think we need competition for his place in the window. Would have liked to have seen Coutinho for longer in hindsight. Thought Digne really struggled and we missed McGinn
