Tired performance.

McGinn like he played under Gerrard.

We’ll finish fourth by limping over the finish line.

Haven’t read any other comments because I assume they are the usual simplistic “we were shit” type of analysis.

We looked very underpowered but I’m pretty sure the whole game plan was concocted with Thursday in mind so the hope was to sneak a win with as little effort as possible. We are nearly down to our last decent 11 and the players could be justified for feeling a bit tired. We were more adventurous in the 2nd half but ironically that may have given Brighton more chances to open us up.

Worrying to see Rogers go off. Ollie is still deep in his trough of uncertainty. Olsen man of the match. So sorry for him that the penalty save didn’t stick.

Come on Liverpool! 🤣

Cash played well, Tim offered little since he had chances in this team, the decision was obvious?

Cash was awful today really, really, shit.

Brighton were there for the taking. In poor form and couldn't score a goal to save themselves but Villa were **** insipid in the first half without any real attempt on goal.

That gave Brighton all the confidence they needed to have a go in the 2nd which they did.

Every chance Villa have had to secure something this season going top or indeed securing CL they've bottled it. They and Emery may look back and regret that game today.

So over to you bin dippers?

Angle #2

There's contact, but equally, Adingra tugs on Ezri's shirt, watch Ezri's body, he's trying everything to not make deliberate contact. He's conned the ref completly. He could continue his run after planting his foot but instead drags it across the turf to fall down.

A defeat is easier to take when their goalkeeper has a blinder or we're unlucky in the game.

It's the manner of the defeat that is the most frustrating thing for me with us offering hardly any attacking output whatsoever.

Hope in the next match Konsa is back at centre back and we need to change something up in midfield. Whether that's Tim or Tielemans coming in we'll see but it feels like that is at least one of the main problem areas.

Not at the moment mate, it's not possible.

We have 8 out they have 9.

Us: Ramsey, Martinez, Mings, Buendia, Tielemans, Zaniolo, Kamara, Rogers.

Them: March, Ferguson, Lamptey, Lallana, Milner, van Hecke, Hinshelwood, Mitoma, Estupinan.

We clearly need Martinez, Tielemans and Zaniolo back to bolster the squad but it cannot excuse that performance today when we got comprehensively outplayed by a team with worse injuries than ourselves.

I’m more worried about Roger’s than the result. We really need him on Thursday.

He clearly clips his left leg, no chance he can carry on running. Also, you wouldn’t complain if the sides were reversed.

I doubt he would have been straight down the tunnel had we got 3 points.

Doubt all you want.

I know he would. Because he always does.

Olsen with 130 MoM votes and 100% of the results...  Anyone else worried that this a sign of the apocalypse?

At least VT won’t meltdown now if we sell Emi in the summer (runs for the door)

He's on his feet after the contact but chooses to go down.

It’s almost as if we’re punching above our weight, and Emery has extracted every last ounce out of the team. And now fixtures and injuries are catching up with us.

But we still had some of our best players all season out there like Luiz, Pau, Watkins, McGinn, Bailey, Konsa. Who'd have known they'd all start playing like absolute muck right when we need them to perform.

Didn't watch it but listened to the last 25 minutes, all I can say was that the 5 live commentator was absolutely delighted with the performance and the 'chance' it has given Tottenham.

From that angle it looks like he pulled his right foot back to kick the ball and clipped Konsa by his own act.

Although it looks inconsequential, Konsa didn't help himself the way he flings his arm out, which may have looked like a push to the ref.

Of course he wouldn't, but they're not reversed.

We have players out there who've played 15-20% more matches than any of theirs this season.

He also tugs on Ezri's shirt to make it look more dramatic. He's not doing it balance.
