Looks like they are going for an embroidered badge this year rather than rubberised, would be virtually impossible to do that much detail with embroidery without it turning into brown mush.

I prefer the detailed lion but honestly don't mind the "new" badge as shown.

Agreed, there is no comparison between the latest badge and the Lerner one, which didn’t work at all.

The original Lerner one was laughable.

But the most recent version of it was far better than this new badge

Why don't they put it out to a vote then. Like in 2022.

Why should they do that again ? They consulted with the fans and the vast majority didn’t take part in the surveys… fans should have very little input into any of this and the problem is they.  have. I mean we should’ve had a fan designed badge competition and voted from there but we didn’t and no amount of angst and ire can change anything at this stage so I’m just gunna go with it and embrace champions league footy next season and myself not get caught up path how the badge looks …

Not that any of you should care and rightly so but asked a few neutral mates and they all seem to like it.

I think it'll go down better than the round badge but doesn't mean anything of course.

Interesting though isn’t it. Neutrals all hated our round badge and generally liked the Lerner 2.0 one.

Or the team were trying to quickly give the fans something to be excited about after that game.

Two things i didnt like about the round one. The lion facing wrong way and the colour of the lion.

But the facing of the lion i hated more than absolutely anything

Probably because we’ve had the Lerner one for so long now. They associate that badge with Villa so something new isn’t pleasant.

Wasn’t that the direction the lion original faced though, way back when?

Well just in terms of brand awareness that justifies having something kind of similar to what we are associated with.

After all this I wish we’d just stuck with Lerner 2.0 but I’m kind of over the badge debate for the rest of my life now.

Heck had 5 months notice.

It just doesn't seem plausible that a professional design agency elected to go for a drop shadow.

I wonder if we can make our own crest patch to sew over this??

Haters are gonna hate but that looks pretty decent with the white trim

I’d have made the star yellow though , but what do I know

Agreed but I can see why people get so heated about it, especially with how the club have gone about managing it all.
