I still can’t believe that a comment was made here rating JWP higher than Dougie and calling him overrated…

😂😂😂

Wasn't there a Brentford/Everton fan who posted here who seemed to have a vendetta against Dougie?

These loan deals are stressing me out

Wesley,Davis,Sanson and Traore need to be moved on permanently now im sick and fed up of hearing their names still linked with this club. Why is it so bloody impossible to sell this bunch.

Hey! Hey! Hey!

Easy on my boy Berty man!!! 😂

It will happen, takes time and we’ve already managed to offload a few… that’s the priority for the moment…

Yeah loan deals are shit but you have no other option if no one wants to buy… best we can do in some cases. It’s our fault for paying these guys so handsomely, those clubs can’t afford to pay their wages.

What would an Everton fan know about classy midifielders? 🤣

I don’t think there’s a single poster here that wants that.

I agree with your point, you need a good core and we have one… I love these players…

But why not add to it and enhance it if possible?

Again, I think you have an exaggerated view on this…

I don’t know what’s influencing you so strongly to be stuck in this mindset…

I monitor this thread to see if we are making a legitimate signing. I've seen untold posts from people including yourself if I could be bothered to find it expressing dismay that the numerous links aren't coming to fruition. The social media infested transfer window is ridiculous. That's all I'm pointing out most of the time. We've signed 3 excellent players out of +100 links but in flip side pages of comments about Pubill because of 1 tweet that's spawned a dozen other tweets. It's nuts. After this post we're guaranteed to sign Pubill obviously

Wow…

Dismay?

More exaggeration…

Ok, let’s leave it there…

Good day…

I think Everton's issue was more that (a) they sold good players and replaced them with expensive players who weren't as good, so struggled and so they couldn't then sell them without making a loss, (b) their recruitment was a bit like ours a few seasons back with Sherwood - badly co-ordinated so that they ended up with a hugely unbalanced team and (c) they took a gamble on only having 1 "proper" goalscorer and have narrowly avoided paying the price when he's been hit with a series of injuries.  Everton still have some very good players on their books but as a team they have no balance and are all over the place.  The absolute epitomy of a team that is weaker than the sum of its parts.

didnt they pay a lot of money for Sigurdsson who then dropped off the face of the planet for......reasons

Konsa and mcginn !!!! Are you mad!!

I personally would sell any of the aforementioned players. Our squad simply won't have the depth to compete in Europe and the prem otherwise. They are all decent squad players at the very least.

Bailey is inconsistent, but he has brilliant moments, and contributed to 9 goals last season. Same with Buendia 8 goal contributions. Now if Diaby proves a good signing, and Bailey doesn't show improvement replace at the end of the season. If Buendia doesn't show improvement, and JPB and AJ continue to progress then I'd sell Buendia.

Dendonker was very reliable when called upon last season (with the exception of the Stevenage game), he cost 15m and we would struggle to replace him for that price.

Konsa's synergy with Mings has been fundamental to our two best league finishes since we got promoted, He is still young and has his best years ahead. Mings and Carlos are 30 they are also CB'S that rely on their athleticism, so 3 more goods seasons and they will need replacing, so keeping a good young CB like Konsa is a no Brainer.

McGinn is so versatile, works hard, and is such a good option to call upon (although I'd start Ramsey and Tielemens ahead of him).

Having said that they are all replaceable (Konsa less so), so if a good offer comes in it would have to be considered. 25m + for Bailey would have to be considered. Similar for Buendia. Dendonker I'd sell at 20m, McGinn I'd sell at 35m +. Apart from McGinn maybe, we wouldn't get anywhere near those figures currently. Because anyone signing them would have to match the wages in order convince the players.

BTW + is with performance and appearance related add ons.

I lived through the Sneijder speculation and Julie B with the Japanese player locked in her basement but the Rashica thread pushed me over the top. Now it's just lack of football to watch,  endless transfer bollocks intensified by our success under Emery but lurking on other club threads it doesn't seem anywhere near this level of bollocks links

Quite a bit since I have supported both teams for a very long time.

No vendetta here at all by the way.

I’m not saying Luiz is terrible. He is tidy in his play and comfortable on the ball. However my main gripe with him is his effectiveness as a midfielder. He doesn’t score consistently, he’s not very tenacious in the tackle and rarely creates anything. Yes I did see his pass for Diaby’s goal last night against Fulham but how often does he do that in the Premiership or in games that matter? For example Man U Casemiro absolutely schooled Luiz the last time they met but that was very quickly swept under the carpet here. That is the quality of of top four teams which Villa are trying to break into.

I generally feel that Villa have suffered from a lack of goals from their midfielders for a very long time. Villa haven’t really had a consistent goal scoring mid since Platt or indeed a dead ball specialist!

Thats why I feel Prowse would be more effective than Luiz while still being very good technically.

It’s a minor thing but ignoring double barrelled surnames really grates on me.

It’s James Ward-Prowse FFS. His middle name is not Ward. And his first name isn’t James-Ward.

Aaaaaaaahhhhhh.

First world problems galore for me.

With respect being a member of a team that has been relegated doesn’t make you a bad player. Villa were relegated with Grealish in the side.

Secondly, I’d be very interested to find out how you know Prowse is currently struggling to get get a move back to the Premiership?

If Prowse is indeed a much inferior player to Luiz then why were Villa trying to buy him last season?

Yes it was rumoured Arsenal we’re trying to buy Luiz last season and if rumours are correct the only reason why Villa didn’t sell him was they couldn’t find a replacement so close to the end of the window.

Playing for any national side, even Brazil, doesn’t guarantee quality. Wesley played for Brazil ffs!!

I cannot help you.

Use your eyes.

I love it. But not one of the “greatest ever”…

More exaggeration 🤣🤣🤣

'Airplane!' is one of the best comedy movies of all time.

But it still isn't nearly as funny as listening to an Everton fan try to justify why James Ward-Prowse is miles better that the "not that bad" Douglas Luiz.

Doug is one of our chief creators… don’t feel it’s worth engaging with anyone who doesn’t see or acknowledge that…

What does he create? He has spent most of his time as a DM 😂.

Your unwillingness to engage someone having a different opinion is if I may say so, quite bizarre on a forum. Either that or very arrogant but so be it!
