You bashed that initially then came around… The “no ambition” posts are very rare and often laughed at here… I’m guessing you’re not on social media (good on you) because you’d be fuming at how much more visible it is there… When people come on here and share links or opinions, it’s not pleasant or welcoming if you (or anyone else) are just going to come down hard on whatever it is they’re sharing or saying. It’s kind of pointless to repeat the same point… it makes this thread pointless too… You might not be aware, but you’re kind of being a downer on things whenever you do that. You could be a lot milder in your posts and allow people to have their say rather than just shutting it down. For example, there were two initial sources that linked us to him and you accused them of being bullshit and fake/crap sources. I distinctly recall this, and they weren’t the only occasions. You weren’t even open to the possibility of us even signing a CB. No problems, it’s in the past. I’m not going to trawl through old threads and comments and link every post - like you said, I have better (and more important) things to do. This is not what I’m even getting into either… just an example. But, you “greet” every link like this and never encourage/endorse/consider or welcome it - it’s a pattern of behaviour. Rather than debate you just say: BS, shit, fake, we don’t need him etc. Just try a different approach and chill out. I just mildly mentioned Tomiyasu and you’ve reacted to that when you didn’t need to and in a way that wasn’t necessary. You’re not open to anything, or even any discussion. Wanting or discussing new players doesn’t mean we are shitting on existing players or dislike them. How do we improve and compete without new or better players and competition? . It sounds as though Sanson, Nakamba, Coutinho, Davis and Dendonker may all be on the move fairly soon. I think you could probably add a few more to that too who we may wish to move on permanently or on loan. Once the decks have been cleared things may start to speed up again. We’ve had a great start to the window with our two incoming players. We just need Monchi to start working his magic with the outgoings now. With that being said we haven’t actually been quiet business wise, it’s the 6th July and we’ve brought another quality midfielder in Tielemans and all but signed a top European defender Torres, along with that Rico kid for the academy so we are doing regular business. I think like most of us I’m irrationally nervous but we are doing business so it isn’t quiet. Also, even though I like Cash's workmate and tenacity, I don't think he's technically good enough to start for us. I agree that if Kiwi wants to just dismiss every rumour he shouldn't be on this thread. The whole point is to discuss players to improve us and/or positions we need to upgrade. If you think the players we have is enough to finish in the top 6 or top 4 (madness if you think that given our competition), fine, don't come on the thread. When he plays at CB, he tends to pass off defending to the guy in front or behind him, and at RB, he regularly got exposed by not having a guy behind him at the back post. The role is different under Emery, but the first time he tried Konsa there was a 3-1 defeat to Bristol in a friendly, so hardly a ringing endorsement. He did improve defensively under Emery this season, but it was only at the very end of the season that he made any progress playing it out from the back, which is also key to that RB position, and also one of the reasons we need to upgrade on Cash. I'm very happy for Konsa to be a squad player, and would be fine with him as 2nd choice RB as well as 4th choice CB, as long as we get a better starting RB, but I don't think he should be in consideration to start at RB. 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

To be fair to @Kiwivillan I don't think he's ever said or implied that the current group of players is good enough to finish top 4 and compete in Europe / the cups and doesn't need improving. I kind of know (and often agree with) what he is saying and part of the reason I visit this thread every hour is my (as yet to be realised) burning desire to see him wax lyrical about a potential link.
