The main priority right now should be to get rid of Gerrard.

Even if we don't have anyone lined up, give it to Critchley until after the WC if need be.

No the main priority, is to wins games, and get up the league.

Is this Gallardo talk a legit link or just wishful thinking?

It's legit but the club needs to order a good supply of buckets or he will turn us down.Β

Bang on @Teale's 'tache, hopefully the team that proposed and decided on Smith will be the people making the decision. We need to get back to the original plan IMO, we already have invested a lot in youth and it's not too late to get back to that still. We should never have abandoned the DoF, Head Coach model and installed an old school Manager. The DoF should be the lead in the philosophy and the Head Coach should be tasked with getting that to work well on the pitch. Then changing a Head Coach doesn't mean starting from scratch yet again.

Purslow needs to step back from the football side and if Lange isn't the man to oversee all the football side from top to bottom then we need someone who can.

My potshot theory is that Southgate is leaving England after the World Cup, regardless of how England get on and we’ve already agreed a deal with him. We’ve agreed with the FA/Southgate to keep it quiet so it doesn’t prove to be a distraction during the World Cup. Not saying whether he would be a good appointment or not; just a bit of baseless speculation.

Has one club ever signed 4 right backs in one January transfer window?Β

I don't get this talk of 'Here are the only available options, Pooch, Tuchel, etc''.

There are what, 100 top 5 league managers. There are also various managers from Holland, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, even Turkey.

Most would be interested in a PL job. It's the best league in the world.Β

So let's say that a pool of 160 possible names, 15% would be doing too well or would have a too high of a profile to come to Villa. 20% Would not want to move right now, another 20% would not want to leave their country for various reasons.

There are many, many options and a good Football Director can find someone from a list of 50-60 possible names that would improve us.Β

The list is much longer than we think - it's not just Benitez or Dyche we are destined for.Β

No, we can't do without a manager even if that manager is Gerrard.Β

In theory, yes. This lot have two appointments under its belt - one where they went on managerial CV (and chose a guy who got us promoted and kept us up), the other taking a punt on a 'big name' (who is currently close to a Venglos win percentage). The hope is that they've learnt something from all of this and will make a logical decision again this time.Β

Leonardo Jardim would be simply perfect for our squad and youngsters we've got coming through.

😍 His briliant in every sense of the word Monaco team was all about the pace, skill and speed of youth, we've got plenty of that coming through as well as players already in the first team suited to that style. And it's also the style I associate with the best Villa teams over the years.

My only concern is to why he’s managed in Saudi Arabia and UAE after leaving Monaco, and not another top European league.
