World of difference between Ozil/Willian and Salah (haven't included Aubameyang because I don't think that was the same - he didn't decline as such).

Salah's contract is 3 years, taking him to 33 years old.  That's basically the remaining "peak" years as a footballer and Liverpool wanted to tie him down for that time.  It makes a lot of sense IMO, although he just hasn't hit the ground running this season at all.

He's looking for Aston Villa in the fixtures list, knowing it will all come good.

I don't really see this.  He was the league's top scorer last season - where was the "incredibly obvious" sign that he was going to flop?

Not exactly obvious, but 30-year-olds are usually only developing in one direction. He was logically going to get worse, if not now then maybe next season.

Plus there’s the psychological effect of getting that final huge contract (Villa have been handing them out lately too)

Looks like there is an investigation going on over the incident between Henderson and Gabriel earlier. Didn't look good for Henderson the way Gabriel and Xhaka reacted.

What happened?

I've never understood why it seemed to take so long to work him out.

Wonderful with the ball at his feet, but if you want to beat Liverpool - run at him. That's exactly what Grealish did in our 7-2 walloping.

Unfashionable Villa did it so its not picked up by the media 😛 though in fairness Mourinho I remember he just put Rashford against him who destroyed him.

Arrogance of not buying a 2nd right back has removed competition for his place

Apologies if this has been said already but I noticed something odd at the end of the Arsenal game yesterday.

The sky mob were waiting for Arteta to come out for a chat, the camera panned out to show him being escorted out of the tunnel by two blokes. All three then stopped whilst Arteta was given a No room for Racism badge to put on. He put it on and it was then visible when he arrived to be interviewed.

I'm all for promoting it and backing it but being forced to wear a badge just for the cameras is part of the problem surely.

It's almost as pointless as players wearing patches with Respect on, whilst they are f ing and blinding at the officials.

I will cut him some slack there he was bouncing around the touchline getting all hot under the collar maybe he changed after the game and it was on his previous top?

Not saying its not important but something you might forget with other things after a match?
