I’m guessing you’re thinking of Alex Baena? From my understanding, Baena is a left winger, Pino a right winger/MR and Jackson plays centrally.

@messi11just made me realise it is Chuwueze I was thinking of.

Based on everything I've seen mentioned here it all seemed they were playing in the same positions lol.

Why has Buendia been thrown into this?  Started on the bench so often despite the calls from Villa Park crowd, never had a consistent starts under Gerrard.  Gerrard always played him as back up to Coutinho somehow.  He might not be worth the money in the end but at this stage we don’t know.

Hes had enough time on the field to make an honest assessment… personally some of us are too bias towards him and dont know the difference between the person and the performance on field, konsa was one of my favourites and he shouldn’t be starting for us and so was watkins im not gonna protect players that shouldn’t get protection… hes had ample time now give it up

They've only started together twice and one of those games we battered Brentford.  Gerrard's tactics weren't set up to get the best out of any of them really.

Forget about them starting together, they are their own individual players at the end of the day they need to produce something for themselves not heavily reliant on one and two players around them and they have not delivered simple

I have to disagree on the Buendia front.

Hes had games where he just looked awful and then hes had a couple games wheres hes been a shining star and more often then not its been a case of being too lightweight, losing the ball and not knowing what to do with the ball with buendia so not sure how he appears to still be a hero to some our fanbase (coutinho’s been worse), not saying anyone else is any better though, only player that can get away with criticism is kamara for now… bailey seems to get alot of abuse but buendia gets off lightly 🤔 … bailey deserves it by all means but i just see alot of bias standpoints

I just can’t see where Buendia can get praised or discarded by either side, he’s been mostly on the bench and brought in late into games generally when the game is going against us and then occasionally thrown in from the start and expected miracles when we know he hasn’t had a run of games and dropped the next game.  I think for or against Buendia would be wrong.  I don’t think I’m biased on either way because I don’t think he’s had chance because Gerrard only used him as back up to Coutinho.

Re: all of the players being written off in the last few pages.

Give Emery 10 games and see what we're thinking then.

Look at what Howe has done with some Newcastle players that were considered utter dogs by all of their supporters (let alone ours) by implementing an actual working system and providing coaching. Joelinton, Almiron etc. None of which we would have wanted anywhere near us a year ago but would bite your hand off for now given their form.

Our players have been coached by a turnip for a year.

He has no choice other than to go with what he has until January anyway. However even with the number of games we have to play until then, and the number of weeks the coaches will have during the World Cup, he will get a very good idea of what he has/needs. Saying that, I think we will discover quite quickly that only some of what we have will hit the mark, and what we thought were big players for us, will be shifted.

We’ve got some of the biggest British prospects like Rory Wilson. Just because his name isn’t foreign doesn’t mean we aren’t scouting big potential either.

I mean whilst I completely agree with this, some of those prospects are immediately coming into the first team squad and those youth signings we've made are more "for the future". Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that we are doing a ton of youth signings like Wilson.

Never rated Lo Celso and my Spurs mates were never fans of him.  I think he’s more suited to Spanish football than the PL.

I don't rate him that highly, but I think he'd be our best #8 if we signed him. Though I do agree that he's more suited to a non-PL style of play. He's brought him at two different clubs as well, which is intriguing

Your hatred of Digne is just getting a bit much. He’s registered several assists and suffered as much as any other player under Gerrard. He’s played just 25 games for us, not even a full season. Give him a break.

Is no hatred he is just really poor and a contract we should never have given an Everton reserve

Not saying hes had the most run of games but we should have seen enough to determine we have overpaid for a player probably worth £22 mill max and he hasnt done much since his arrival , because if he had done the right things he would have been starting

There’s someone like this on twitter regarding Konsa like literally every post is about him, which normally indicates they dont like the person more than on field performance

Because Rafa hated him. Not because he wasn’t good enough. Let’s not revise history.

No excuse. Gerrard didn't like Mings but still played him. Digne in a specialised position was replaced by a centre back

Rafa saw through him but we jumped as he is a big name

Maybe Emery can get decent performances from him but dont see it

He didn't play after that Liverpool game as was benched

The entire world knows he fell out with Rafa at that point. It was 4 games he was benched, then he was sold to Villa.

He wasn't a reserve which ever way you choose to frame your argument and its pretty obvious you have an agenda against the player.

Considering he's had niggly injuries since his arrival here I would hardly call a return of 4 assists and 1 goal in 25 games for a fullback a total waste of money or a flop considering we've had one of the worst coaches in our history during that period.
