LT_1993 Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 oasis, they have one song that isnt complete garbage
TheDon Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Coldplay, they have zero songs that aren't complete garbage.
rjw63 Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 That's a tough choice - I like at least one song by all of them except the Allmans (who I am totally unfamiliar with).
mjmooney Posted July 10, 2008 VT Supporter Posted July 10, 2008 None of the above, they're all OK. Hands-down winner is U2. With Joy Division/New Order and The Smiths in close contention. 2

Xann Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 The Smiths. Any particular reason for choosing the above?

Try the "Eat A Peach" double album for a good cross-section of their style. I will investigate them ;-) Over rated? Anything involving Pete Doherty.
mjmooney Posted July 10, 2008 VT Supporter Posted July 10, 2008 Why isn't U2 up there, they'd piss it!See my post!
LT_1993 Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Coldplay, they have zero songs that aren't complete garbage. true.....
theboyangel Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Out of that list it'd have to be Oasis, I agree with the shouts for U2 to be mentioned too
dundeevilla Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Why are these particular bands in the poll? Beach Boys for me.
mjmooney Posted July 10, 2008 VT Supporter Posted July 10, 2008 The Smiths. Any particular reason for choosing the above?Because they were a decent little guitar band, such as you might be delighted to find playing your local pub, but with a talentless self-obessed knobhead standing in front of them, bleating crigeworthy lyrics in the most irritating way possible. And yet some people treat them like a bloody religion. Go, as they say, figure.
TheDon Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 who dare vote for Nirvana??? Worse than that someone voted for Black Sabbath?!?! Even if you don't like Sabbath you can't not apprechiate what they did for music. Their style still influnces a huge amount of bands today, they were pioneers.
villadude Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 with a talentless self-obessed knobhead standing in front of them, bleating crigeworthy lyrics in the most irritating way possible. This would apply to quite a few so called brilliant bands IMO.
Genie Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Worse than that someone voted for Black Sabbath?!?! Even if you don't like Sabbath you can't not apprechiate what they did for music. Their style still influnces a huge amount of bands today, they were pioneers. But how many songs have stood the test of time, 1? 2? by the way I went for Nirvana.
harrywrose1 Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 to the bloke who voted for nirvana- Even if you donDo you not like Rock music, I can understand not thinking that they're amazing but Nevermind was pure genious!!
