U23 Development League 2021/2022

I think the likes of Bogarde and Chrisene were probably held back as a precaution, just in case we have any more covid drop outs for tomorrows game, not sure what Aaron Ramsey's injury status is, but possibly the same for him.

Feel sorry for our players, especially the likes of Tommi O'Reilly and Hart as they would have viewed this as a good opportunity to impress at U23 level as it's rare they get a chance, especially starting games.

U18s play small heath tomorrow, normally the likes of Barber, O'Reilly, Hart, Reddin, Rowe, Wright, would have been involved, so we will be frustrated that they've made the unnecessary journey today, as might as well have stayed behind and played in the derby.

Frustrating for them all really, as no more games now until the new year.

It's a little blurred but I think this might be Aaron Ramsey in the background of this picture taken from the training pictures on the official site.

Sounds as though (context below) we're being pushed by the league to play Chelsea without enough players. League says we have enough first teamers because of the Barrow game where the below played:

Archer, Carney, JPB (All starters). Caleb, Lindley, Aaron Ramsey (Sub Appearances) and  Bogarde, Swinkels and Sinisalo (unused Subs).

Could see a lot of those Vs Chelsea as a result. My bets are we'll see Archer, Carney, JPB and Iroegbunam (now ahead of Bogarde). Maybe AJ too. How many starting and how many on the bench will be interesting.

So basically the PL are saying "dont develop your young players at your own club (ie: just loan em all like ala Chelsea), because it will be used against you when most of your first team is missing".

Thats madness.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow, will be interesting to see the line-up with all the players we've called back. Could potentially have a front three of Barry, Young, and Caleb Chukwuemeka. Presuming Raikhy will have a good chance of getting a game as well if he's fit.

In 7 away games this season, Boro have lost 6 of them. They managed to win the Tees-Wear derby 3-1. Hopefully with the gang somewhat back together, we can absolutely muller them.
