Stratvillan
Not the greatest manager at VP, but was ahead of his time. Celtic fans hold him in higher regard.
DaveAV1
Just now, Stratvillan said: Not the greatest manager at VP, but was ahead of his time. Celtic fans hold him in higher regard. It was an interesting appointment at the time. It didn’t quite work out but a foreign manager was reasonably rare at the time. Ground breaking stuff from AVFC again.

withes_shin
I remember going to the opening of Bescot Stadium when the first official game played there was Walsall vs Villa, and if my fading memory serves me correctly it was also Dr. Jo's first game in charge. villa89
Ahead of his time, I remember a story of him at Villa wanting players to do warm downs instead of going for a blast of pints after a match. Needless to say it didn't go down well with the players at the time.

Pez1974
RIP Dr Jo. May have been the right man, but was at the wrong time. Seemed like a good person, and he gave us memories and never shirked his work. You can't ask for more.
