I saw the new blues owners (not yeung tho, The new CEO and another guy) interviewed on telly yesterday. I hope this is not just me being biased, but they seriously seemed to not have a clue what they were talkin about!

Everything about them just seemed Mickey mouse!......the one guy finished of the interview by screaming out "and buy the tickets!!!".......kinda like Bob geldof on live aid!......the other guy just fell about laughin. They just seemed totally unprofessional!

This is the bit I don't get:

C is for CASH. Love of it is said to be the root of all evil but it has been the making of modern football in England. We revolutionised Blues and that couldn't have been done without the £5million plus of value that was added annually to the club's worth, reaching £82m when I left.

Revolutionised into what exactly? A small-time yo-yo club? Bravo.

IINM, the past 15 or so years is the most successful period in the club's history.

Which more than anything else shows how much of a tinpot that club is, I guess.

In fairness to the departing bunch of porn peddlers they have in terms of the piss poor history of that club transformed their fortunes although when crediting them with that success you need to remember where they were before they arrived.

I would love to see a return to the days before they arrived when they dwelled in the lower leagues under Barry Fry, people forget just what a joke they were back then.

Hate to be pedantic but they were there when barrow boy Fry was manager as they appointed him. Shame really, he's the one sty manager who I don't mind, met him a few times and f he hadn't have managed them he'd be a legend. A genuinely funny bloke.

Football by nature has a history where some clubs will always be up there (manure, scouse, us, le arse, everton, yids), the also rans who get midtable, flitter with dogfights, the odd relegation/promtions (spam, mackems for example), and the Small Heaths of the world, ie. **** delusional tin pot laughing stocks. (see also the geordie nation).

Outgoing Birmingham chairman David Gold has warned new owner Carson Yeung that reducing ticket prices could lead to the club being relegated.

Yeung has cut the price of a ticket for the Barclays Premier League visit of Manchester City on 1 November.

Gold told BBC Radio 5 live: "The model for reducing prices doesn't work. In the event that you cut your prices in half you don't double your attendance.

"Fans will love him but he will get relegated because it doesn't work."

Gold, who is stepping down after 16 years at St Andrew's, added: "Often fans say if you cut your prices you will fill the stadium - it is not true.

When the last Carson Yeung attempt to buy the club failed it destabilised the club to an extent that Steve Bruce left, understandably, and we got relegated

Outgoing Birmingham chairman David Gold

"What I have been lobbying for through the Football Association, and particularly when I was in the Football League, was for prices to be cut universally, across the board, every club reducing their prices.

"You can't do it individually and Carson will find, if he keeps doing it individually, he will get relegated.

"If all your competitors cut their prices it's fine, it does work.

"But what will happen is the other clubs won't cut their prices and they will get promoted or not relegated, so the model doesn't work."

Yeung first attempted to take over the club two seasons ago but a potential deal collapsed and Birmingham were subsequently relegated.

606: DEBATE

I hope the new board are given an extended chance to put us in a position that we are comfortable with

Gold accepts he and fellow owner David Sullivan must accept their share of the blame for that, but feels the club is now in good shape as it is handed over.

He said: "One shouldn't blame Carson Yeung, it was the recession that helped the collapse of the deal two years ago.

"But it was that that got the football club relegated. When the last Carson Yeung attempt to buy the club failed it destabilised the club to an extent that [manager] Steve Bruce left, understandably, and we got relegated.

"We did genuinely believe at the time the deal would go through. Our judgement was wrong so you could argue it was the board's fault. I would take the criticism.

"But we did redeem ourselves and by the same token you must commend us for getting Birmingham City promoted the following season."

Give it a rest you dildo selling fucktard, why on earth would clubs who fill their grounds agree to reduce prices in order to try and help you do so??? Why does what Liverpool or Utd charge have any relevance to the size of the crowds Small Heath can attract? It **** doesn't. You can't sell out against us so you never ever will.

Small time club, small fan base even smaller trophy room and one **** huge chip.

Is it just me or would Man Utd and Liverpool cutting ticket prices (and then presumably trying to expand their grounds to make up the lost revenue) not be a good thing for sha attendances?

You would think so wouldn't you. He has been trotting this line out for years (all the time screwing us visiting Villa fans every season) but I'm yet to hear him explain how all teams cutting ticket prices would magic create a load more Small Heath fans. I mean as they so recently bosted "they were the 10th best supported club in the Championship last season. Fact"!!!!!

what was his last act as chairman against bolton? now whats egg foo yeungs first one?

i dont see the difference (still wont fill the stadium and they wont win) or why this idiot constantly needs to come out in the press talking about ticket prices, and yet never mentions how he rapes away fans at every chance, i really hope the saving grace of this deal is that when the slaaaaag is on the apprentice this sort of bollocks isnt going to be spouted anymore

It was an odd interview. They kept bursting out laughing as if they were in on some secret joke. I think McLeish won't last the season.
