Please tell me when to stop laughing at SHA

I think they'll have more strength than the last season they were up.

Roger Johnson was one of the best defenders in the Championship last season. Their midfield is tight (but unspectacular) and if they can take their hard-to-beat mentality into the Premiership they should stay up.

A big ask of course, but my money is on Burnley, Hull and Portsmouth to finish beneath them.

I have to say I think the absolute opposite this Sha side is poor and full of old past it players who simply won't cut it in this league and they have a manager who just doesn't inspire confidence either in his players or his board.

They have been shocking in pre-season and I think they wilol struggle all season especially if that Yeung comes in and rocks the applecart.

Anyone see the 3 bluenose fans talking on SSN? 1st guy and 3rd were somewhat normal.

The 2nd guy seemed to be on day release from some kind of institution.

As with the majority of SHA supporters

...Birmingham's board had been fiercely critical of Yeung's approach two years ago. "We allowed ourselves to believe Carson Yeung's takeover would be completed with little pain last December," said Karren Brady, the club's managing director, in May 2008. "The man from Hong Kong appeared to be a Chinese billionaire but turned out to be merely a wealthy poser. By the time we knew it, he had paid £15m for a 29.9% stake in Blues but couldn't find the rest."...

I never realised this Yeung character was in fact a Walter Mitty type. rather i believed he was just a dodgy businessman :D .

There's a circus in the town in the town, Carson Yeung is a clown is a clown and Karen Brady is still a **** slag and the Blues are going down, going down...

CARSON YEUNG'S planned £70million takeover of Birmingham could be scuppered - by the Premier League.

SunSport revealed exclusively yesterday that Yeung is trying once again to complete a buy-out of the Midlands club.

But the controversial Hong Kong businessman will need to pass the "fit and proper person" test as soon as he increases his current 29.9 per cent stake in the club.

Five years ago Yeung was prosecuted by the Securities and Futures Commission for breaching the rules.

And that could come back to haunt him if he raises the cash to complete a buy-out which started two years ago.

The Premier League will launch an investigation into Yeung's business dealings as soon as he takes his shareholding over 30 per cent or if he becomes a director, shadow director or owner.

Yeung pleaded guilty to a charge of failing on five separate occasions to declare his interest in a company called Cedar Base Electronic Ltd and was fined.

It is not the only obstacle in the way of the billionaire. Angry fans have flooded forums to give Yeung the thumbs down.

One supporter labelled him the "Del Boy" of China.

In 2007, Yeung failed to stump up the cash for a proposed £50m takeover and fell out with Brum's owners. Chairman David Gold publicly accused Yeung of destabilising the club and vowed not to let it happen again. And company chief David Sullivan revealed that Yeung had refused to invest a penny in transfer funds.

SunSport's revelations caught the board on the hop - especially as it looks like Yeung is now prepared to pay £20m on top of the previous asking price.

Shares in the club yesterday shot up to value the business at £36.7m.

Yeung emerged out of the blue two years ago as a frontman for loss-making clothing company Grandtop International, who appear to have few assets.

When Yeung arrived in 2007, surrounded by an entourage of flunkeys, he promised massive investment in players when he finally bought the club.

But it became apparent that he could not raise the extra cash required - by which time his refusal to allow Steve Bruce to sign a new contract cost the club the services of a top-class manager.

Birmingham were relegated at the end of that season.

The board and fans blame Yeung for both the loss of Bruce and top-flight status.

Yeung started off as a hairdresser, built up a chain of hair salons then hit it big in real estate and casinos.

He was briefly owner of Hong Kong Rangers FC, where he was blasted for interfering in team selection.

He has a task to win over Brum fans, who point to the broken promises of 2007.

There's an article on the BBC Sport site today about McLeish saying they need more new players because what they have at the moment isn't enough to stay in the league.

On there is a link to a thread on 606 which reads the following:

Every pundit and every bookie has us as one of the favourites to go down. However, I do not think this is going to happen. Look at what we have brought in: Christian Benitez a proven goal scorer at every level. Will he make the grade in the premiership - why wouldn't he? Look at Torres, he was not proven in the premiership and look at how he has performed over the last few years. Now I am not saying that Benitez is as good as Torres, I am just saying he could have a similar impact. If he could go onto score 15, over even 20 goals for us, at least we will have a gem and I am very confident that this will happen.

Now take Barry Ferguson, he is our answer to Geno Gattuso. A real passionate player who has a winning mentality. He really does have what it takes to play in the league. He was proven at Blackburn, I feel was their best player when he was there. Why he was sold I will never understand.

We all know that having an proven international in between the sticks is going to be a huge boost for the defence, and no one comes with a better CV than Hart. I feel that he will be at next years world cup and will breathe such a huge sigh of relief for the defence.

The other players will all work well, Vignal in particular is a stand out, ex Liverpool and Rangers, surely can only be a good player. I remember watching him at Liverpool and thought he had a great future ahead of him. Hopefully, Alex will get the best out of him to fulfil his potential. Roger Johnson - I do not know too much about him. However, I trust that Alex has made a shrewd signing and will turn out to be a key player.

I just hope, with particular attention to Benitez, that all the players coming in do not have stupid buy out clauses in their contract as I feel they will be worth double their value when it comes to next season. I am not getting carried away, but I know this is being optimistic I think we will have a good season. I know winning the league is out of the question and so is champion’s league. Europa is not a million miles away, look at Fulham they did it last year, why can't we? We would need to make St. Andrews a fortress, win our homes games and pick up as many away points as we can and I feel we have a good chance of European football next year. Every year there is a surprise team that does well - perhaps this is our year? I am that confident that I may put some money on it - the odds would be substantial to say the least.

Now there's optimistic and there's optimistic. Where the hell do you start with that?
