There's something utterly odious about Messi these days, just his body language and what can be a total lack of leadership on a football pitch in some really important occasions. Ronaldo is much more likeable.

Tim Vickery a south american expert that the coach didnt want Aguero in the squad yet Messi demanded it

Martinez looked really good for Colombia, without checking their squad don't know if he plays in europe yet. Totally destroyed Argie RB Savaria who's just signed for Porto in the second half.

Plenty of good players in this tournament who are playing for smaller clubs in europe who we could pick up to improve us, Roberto Rosales good RB who's played for Malaga and Espanyol in Spain and would be available for 3-4m and Tomas Rincon the DM who's been at Hamburg, Genoa, Juventus and played well for Torino last season. Both 30-31 so probably don't fit the age range we're after.

Not sure how often Santiago Arias has played for Atletico Madrid but he's another full back who might be a loan option.

Swansea is only prem team that was seriously linked but he's been playing in Italy last 4 years.

Ultimately we're going to need to sign some 28-30 year old international players to balance out the squad at some stage given we have few existing ones in the squad so there's plenty of them in the Copa America.

Is that the same Ronaldo who appears to have raped someone and then paid them off, or a different Ronaldo?

Qatar is actually pretty decent. Play nice football and have some skillful players. Might make a good showing in 2020.

Yep for all the negativity of them hosting it, they are continually starting to show they will hold their own. Their manager is building a quality 'team' and as you say play nice football to watch on the eye

Impressive game by Peru, they play some nice football.

Bolivia might not be world beaters but Peru really dominated them after conceding that early penalty.

Have they bought players just like they did in handball?

Hard to say bought but have a couple naturalised players which bigger countries have done

3 goals ruled out after VAR for Brazil :crylaugh:

And here I was thinking that the home nation would get the calls. Nice to see that's not always the case even with VAR.

Fwiw 2 of the goals I'm not sure should have been ruled out.

Experts say they are the most balanced South American team, impressed in World Cup despite early exit

Yeah they are really good, a lot of people have them as the surprise package of the tournament.

They are a bit like Chile was a couple of years back.

Think Uruguay are the best team in this tournament, always tough to play in knock out stages and got that great mix of world class experienced players (Godin, Suarez, Cavani) and interesting young players in midfield.

Would be surprised if it isn't Brazil-Uruguay final cue all the 1950 comparisons.

Argentina btw yet again going to change half their team during a tournament again, likes of Aguero going to be dropped. They really are clueless.
