maqroll Posted May 13, 2013 Share Posted May 13, 2013 Strange crash. Why the pilot had the plane at an upwards 90 degree angle is baffling. He had to have known there was engine failure right away, so why didn't he try land the thing instead of crossing his fingers and hitting the throttle full force? Ginko Posted May 13, 2013 Share Posted May 13, 2013 It was a cargo plane, hence why there were seven casualties and not more, not that seven isn't horrific enough. The loads in the back weren't strapped down properly and it's apparantly a very short runway so the plane had to ascend at a steeper angle. Unfortunately, the loads came loose, piling everthing into the back of the plane. There was nothing that could be done. The pilot actually did a good job of levelling out, he did everything right, he just didn't have enough height. I find that video really difficult to watch. The comments on that video claim the pilot was British, not that it makes it more upsetting, just another bit of info. Shame. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
