What's going on with Germany? They did well to pull a victory from a losing position at half time, they're still great going forward but defensively they look shot.

If Sweden had any pace they'd have scored more than 1.

Neuer isnt fit. Usually he is flying out intercepting long balls but not this tournament

Sweden played a solid game against a once again under performing Germany.

Paid the price for being overly cautious when they got the man advantage. Instead of trying to control the game (not go full retard in attack mind) they just stayed in their own goal area.

Also a bit strange sub bringing on another striker (Kiese-Thelin) if the plan wasn't to go for it. Would have been much better served to bring on a MF.

Harsh way to lose, but only themselves (and the ref/VAR) to blame.

Cautious manager being overly cautious, oddly familiar that...

Still a good(ish) performance, just need to beat Mexico now.

Timo Werner is looking absolute shite, they need to drop him and they also need to start Brandt who has looked excellent in both of his substitute appearances. Rudy getting injured is good for them as well as he's the epitomy of average and they looked much better with Gundogan in there. Finally, Draxler needs to be kicked into a touch, he's a player I just don't get, average best describes him.

Plenty of German fans on another forum pointing out they lack a proper DM for this tournament, Khederia played like a drunk the other day so obviously not fit and Kroos obviously can't do that job.

Looks like someone like Bastian Schweinstiger is a big loss for them along with Lahm so they lack those experienced heads in the team.

Think Brazil will beat Germany tbh. I know they haven't been great themselves but think any 3 out of Neymar, Firmino, Jesus and Coutinho will cause Germany endless problems on the counter attack.

incredibly harsh on Werner, the midfield did nothing to find his runs or get the ball into the box for 135 mins of their games. He comes into a wider position at half time yesterday, gets on the ball, goes direct and gets an assist and fouled for the winner.

He's absolutely shocking in front of goal, they desperately need a number 9 who can deliver, it will hold them back this tournament. Werner's finishing has been absolutely pathetic. Yes good work out of the box but they have no shortage of players who can do that.

Several. And besides that he doesn't even get into good positions often enough.

whoscored.com says he's had 2 shots all tournament.

Which is a problem in itself I guess, but certainly doesn't suggest he's missed a load of chances.

? you can’t

You're asking someone to provide evidence for a subjective opinion, who has never claimed to be an absolute authority or a statistician.

Prove him wrong if you're that bothered.

You can see why Lewindowski scores so many in the bundesleage, the whole system is crying out for a powerful striker to finish off the moves from the switching number 10s. Luckily for world football Germany don’t appear to have one of these strikers of their own. If they did, they’d be virtually unplayable

what?

He said he’s had “several” chances and the finishing for them has been “pathetic”. That’s not subjective. I simply asked him to describe the chances. How can I prove he had no chances other than to say he had no chances?

my point is clearly how can you make those judgements off no evidence, and if you have it, show it. burden of proof isn’t mine

Its strange that they struggle to produce a centre forward. Many times it was just Klose called up and a few false 9s

Sweden, being probably the most predictable and easily scouted team in the tournament will almost certainly play the way we always do, using the same players we always do.

doesn't mean we're easily beaten as it is a hard working collective. Sadly our x-factor Emil Forsberg has been performing well below par leaving us with little or no creativity and drive.

Still, if manager Janne Andersson can avoid making those uncharacteristic tactical errors and substitutions that cost us against Germany there is still a faint chance we can beat Mexico.

Not holding much hope thou as we need our best players to be at their best, and so far they have not been.

This group could end up a bit of a mess if results go a certain way and it would then have to be decided by bookings/fair play.

If mexico beat sewden 1-0 & Korea beat germany 1-0 then mexico would be on 9 points with the other 3 all on 3 points, all with -1 goal difference and all scored 2 and conceeded 3
