Mandy Lifeboats
I'll start you off with a few examples. Band Aid - "There won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time." There's are several mountains in Africa that are snow capped in December. Such as....... Toto - "Kilimanjaro rising like Mount Olympus above the Serengeti." Not unless it's moved. Julie Andrews - "A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down". Dangerous advice to diabetics. Oasis - "Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball." Cannonballs are rarely noted for their slow velocity. Does anyone want to offer any more?

Mark Albrighton Posted May 27, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted May 27, 2018 Lions do not live in the jungle, the mighty jungle. As a result, they are unlikely to sleep in the jungle, the mighty jungle. And I can’t take credit for this one, but Katie Melua’s “Nine Million Bicycles” includes the lines - “We are 12 billion light-years from the edge, That's a guess, No one can ever say it's true, But I know that I will always be with you.” Which particle physicist Simon Singh changed to the more accurate - “We are 13.7 billion light-years from the edge of the observable universe, That's a good estimate with well-defined error bars, Scientists say it's true, but acknowledge that it may be refined, And with the available information, I predict that I will always be with you.”

Mandy Lifeboats
Busted - "I've been to the year 3000. Not much has changed but they live underwater. But your great great great grand-daughter looks mighty fine." With a generation being approximately 25-30 years apart this could not account for a period of 1000 years without significant changes to life expectancy. Well, technically it wasn't at Waterloo either... it was fought between Hougoumont, Papelotte and la Haye Sainte. It became known as the Battle of Waterloo because the despatch sent back to England with news of the victory was sent from nearby Waterloo.
MrDuck
AC/DC - "I'm TNT, I'm dynamite" Well you can't be both. TNT is trinitrotoluene, dynamite is mitroglycerin mixed with earth or sawdust. Dynamite is much safer, much more stable.
Ponky
Credence Clearwater Revival - Cotton Fields "It was down in Louisiana, just about a mile from Texarkana" Texarkana is about 30 miles from the Louisiana State Line. So even the original Leadbelly version ("10 miles") is incorrect.
